Mechanical Engineering And Saudi Aramco
In a world that is becoming more globalized than ever, companies such as the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) which is located primarily in Saudi Arabia are outsourcing jobs all throughout the world. Energy consumption is at an all time high and without people discovering new ways to create new sources of power the world will experience many problems in the future. As of currently, Saudi Aramco manages the world's largest proven crude oil reserves, which weigh in at 260.1 billion barrels and without the proper techniques to extract this oil from the ground people from all over the world would be affected. (MEED) In countries like the Canada, the United States, and Belgium, the average person uses over sixty barrels of oil a year per person. (Gavish, Gavish) Although these countries are using more energy than most others, it is easy to predict that it will only rise in the future. Mechanical engineering is an important profession because without mechanical engineers many country's economies would be affected, many people would not get to study in other countries, and the opportunity for finding alternative forms of energy would not exist.
As the demand for oil keeps rising, more people are becoming reliant on having a consistent and reliable supplier. Having access to fuel is extremely important because without having oil people's transportation, heating and energy, as well as their jobs would be at risk. The company Saudi Aramco is responsible for supplying 3.4 billion barrels in 2013 which totals about one in every eight barrels of the world's crude oil production. (MEED) This accomplishment helps not only the people of Saudi Arabia but also helps the people of the world. Although countries like the United States and Canada rely heavily on oil, it is foreign oil companies that are the suppliers and without having access to some of the world's largest oil deposits these countries may not be able to continue advancing. By being able to produce such large amounts of oil at a fairly lower cost, companies like Saudi Aramco allow countries like China, India, and Indonesia to also continue to compete with other countries throughout the world. In a recent study, it was found that “among developed and developing countries in which crude oil consumptions exceeds 11% of the GDP for a long duration of time, it is almost impossible to continue and develop their economies.” (Gavish, Gavish)
Among the economic benefits of having a constant supply of oil, many companies offer their employees the opportunity to obtain college degrees throughout the world. Saudi Aramco is one of the top companies that offers a hands on learning program that creates an environment to learn while still getting to work in the field. It is important to allow young engineers to learn different languages as well as new methods because they will have to work with many counties in order to export their resources. Universities and business often work together to give students the chance to visit new places and learn about real-world production. (Cheng, Wu, Zhang) Secondly, because of the programs created by certain companies many seminars are held which offer students the chance to speak with already successful people in their desired profession. These seminars offer new engineers the chance to ask questions and receive guidance as well as even potentially providing them with internships in the future. It is important and also beneficial for students to participate in these programs because it gives them experience as well as allowing them to become familiar with the companies that they plan on working with. (Cheng, Wu, Zhang)
Although many countries are currently relying on oil as their main source of energy, mechanical engineers in the future will look to discover alternative forms that may be cheaper or even better for the environment. Many advances have been made to begin using new forms of energy like solar, nuclear, and natural gas. Many countries have also begun to research the possible benefits of these new forms of energy and it is believed that in time these will be safer for a country's climate, air quality, and water supply. (Mazharul, Amin) In being able to optimize a countries own resources it is also predicted that a country will be able to save large amounts of money while still being able to maintain their standard of living. (Iskander) Mechanical engineers are important to a nation's progression because they work at discovering these new forms of energy as well as learning how to best utilize the forms that they are already using. In the past year, Saudi Aramco has worked to produce 455.9 million barrels of natural gas liquids (NGLs) and it can only be assumed that they will only continue to improve. (MEED)
In today's society mechanical engineering is a very valued profession. Many people rely heavily on technology as well as using oil to heat their homes, drive back and forth to work, and also even for a career. It is said that the average salary of a mechanical engineer as of July 2014 was $62,500 a year until their fifth year post undergraduate school. (Thilmany) As a student continues to earn degrees their salary continues to increase and by the time a mechanical engineer is an expert in his profession it is not unrealistic to think that they can make nearly $120,000 a year depending on what company they work for. Many students believe that the amount of money that they can make a year is very tempting and it is often a reason to why they choose to study engineering in college. While going to a university and getting a degree is a very positive step towards becoming successful in this field, it should also be remembered that a mechanical engineer has the opportunity to help the people throughout the world. They are the ones who can find new ways to help fuel the economy and help us to continue to advance as a society.

Your report should have a clear introduction. I should be able to figure out what the report is about in that introduction. There should be a body of information that is logically ordered and presented in clearly headed sections. Illustrations should be used to supplement the text. That means they should not be decorative in nature; they should add to the information presented. An example would be an illustration of an engine’s parts if you were talking about an engine for an electric car.
