Home Speech Assignment

NOTE: This speech may NOT be the same topic as you used in either of your two in class speeches!

The purpose of this assignment is to get feedback from people that are not speech instructors. To complete this assignment, you should prepare a 4-6 minute speech to be delivered to a minimum of five people (can be friends, classmates, co-workers, etc). Perform the speech, and solicit feedback from members of the audience (I recommend assuring the audience that any negative feedback is welcome and will not harm your grade on this assignment). It is often a good idea to ask that the audience write their comments for you (to avoid one person giving feedback, and the others simply agreeing).

To turn in this assignment, you should copy and paste it into the online submission form here on Moodle.

For this assignment, you will turn in the following:

Complete outline of your speech (sources cited/bibliography included)

First and last names of each person that watched the speech, and the date of the speech.

A comment summary form (after reading or listening to the feedback from the audience, please type up a list of the positive and negative feedback from the audience). Please include a minimum of three positive and three negative comments from the audience.

DUE: The start of the last week prior to the Final Exam !
