· Scholarly sources, such as books, peer-reviewed journals, or other materials appropriate to the issue or problem are chosen for study.

· The article is drawn from the most relevant published knowledge and current research on the topic under investigation.

· The source of the article is provided clearly and easy to retrieve.

Critique of the Article (80 points)

(critically review and critique the following questions or issues)

Introduction (20 points)

· The statement of problems and importance of the research as justified in the literature review.

· Clear and specific statement of purposes, hypotheses, and terminologies.

Methods (30 points)

· What’s the study design? Are there any potential threats to the internal and external validity of the design?

· Are the variables (IV, DV, CV) well defined and clearly measurable?

· Are the study population and sample clearly defined and the sampling methods/procedure clearly described?

· Does sample/sampling method place any limits on the generalizability of the results?

· How the procedures of the study are structured?

· What measurement tools are used?

· How is the data collected and analyzed? Are the analysis methods clearly described?

· Did the results reported relate to the specified objective/hypotheses?

· Are the tables and figures useful, clear, and in proper formats?

Results (20 points)

· Are the results discussed in relation to the study purposes/theoretical frameworks/hypotheses?

· Are the results discussed in relation to those from similar studies?

· Are the authors justified in the strength of the statements they make in the study?

· How will these results add to this field of research? Were potential directions for future studies mentioned?

References and Miscellaneous (10 points)

· Are the references comprehensive and current?

· Miscellaneous issues of the article discussed.
