Marketing Essay
Be sure to review the information provided under the general question forum regarding the Milestones and Portfolio Project...
Read the following to ensure you understand the academic integrity aspect of this assignment and any critical thinking assignment. The essay must use scholarly sources to support the critical thinking process. Limit paragraphs between 3-5 sentences and have at least one scholarly source cited within the paragraph that is the focal point for your critical thinking. The use of personal experience or personal interviews or personal knowledge is not a scholarly source; hence, no credit awarded toward the critical thinking aspect. Scholarly sources must be obtainable from the CSUG library or obtainable by public access such as Google Scholarly.
The one aspect that the majority of student face is grasping the concept of actually being an academic student requires research and citing of scholarly sources that underwent a peer review process, which is the foundation of the critical thinking process.
You might consider doing a comparison for example between different firms, industries, or leadership styles, which I found to be some of the most outstanding assignments. Please review all the information that I post and note you cannot submit the same assignment from a prior course.
Read the entire Portfolio Project (PP) to ensure you do not miss any requirements. I remind you to review all my comments on prior assignment and throughout the classroom. Remember to include the theories that we cover in the course or any academic theories that comply with the assignment requirements and align with the objectives of the assignment and avoid personal information.
IMPORTANT: To avoid violating privacy issues that could present legal issues upon yourself, use the name SMITH and do not provide any other information regarding the person you are interviewing!
With respect to your summary of theories (established theories such as the ones we cover in the course! DO NOT MAKE UP A THEORY!!!!). Your approach to theories can change as you progress through the Portfolio Project (PP), meaning you can revise your approach. I cannot stress this enough, you must provide scholarly sources throughout the entire assignment. Limit the background/interview section to two pages, which is a summary and relate the interview to scholarly sources/theories. DO NOT INCLUDE A SCRIPT OF THE INTERVIEW!!! Do not include abstracts, table of content, charts, tables, or figures. The Research and Reflection section is the bulk of the assignment.
Use paraphrasing throughout the entire essay and limit/avoid direct quotes. Personal communications are not scholarly sources. Do not list personal communications reference section, and will not receive credit! Most students incorporate the interview into a paragraph with the theory, which is the preferred method see example below. You might want to consider developing the interview questions after you determine the theories. Meaning based on the key aspects of the theories you selected, you determine what are the key interview questions that you will ask you ask during the interview.
I offer a sample below how you might approach the PP.

Critical thinking: Nearly 70% of the points defined by the assignment rubric focus on Critical thinking. The lack of scholarly sources to support the critical thinking process will result in deduction across the majority of the grading criteria section within the rubric. Scholarly sources are necessary throughout the essay to support the critical thinking process, see the rubric for the number of required sources. Keep paragraphs between 3-5 sentences and have at least one citation, which is citing a scholarly source within the paragraph. This citation becomes the focal point of the paragraph. Review the assignment carefully and ensure you are answering each question and include a scholarly source.
APA: Nearly 30% of the points defined by the assignment rubric focus on CSU-GC Guide to Writing and APA Requirements. You must adhere to CSU-GC Guide to Writing and APA Requirements and the assignment/rubric requirements.

PARAPHRASE, PARAPHRASE, PARAPHRASE!!!!
Paraphrasing is a win win win win for a student. Paraphrasing express in your words the concepts of the author, the student is providing a scholarly source, the student avoids the direct quote issues, and the student can blend different authors together. Such as… A review of the literature indicated largely positive relationships between ITF, SA, and ITE and significant impacts of these inter-relationships upon business (Bani, 2011; Beimborn & Joachim, 2011; Burke, 2011; Chung, Byrd, Lewis, & Ford, as cited in Xu, Zhang, & Barkhi, 2010; Ness, 2005a, 2005b).
The following are paraphrased examples
Use the last name of the author(s)/ DO NOT PROVIDE THE FIRST NAME OR INITIALS OF THE FIRST NAME
Note the placement of the period that ends the sentence.
Note the usage of a comma to separate author’s names.
In addition, note the usage of “and” VERSUS “&” Use an ampersand “&” in a company name or inside the parentheses () of an in-text citation.
Anywhere else, spell out the word “and”
