Craig Hospital is involved in the treatment of patients suffering from traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and any other related neurological disorder. Any referral to the hospital has to first undergo approval by the hospital and a team of its physicians who would judge suitability of the referral by funding requirements, rehabilitation goals, medical condition and diagnosis. Their operational design restricts age criteria to be suitable for adults, or patients 16 years and older. Exceptions to include younger patients would require approval of the Medical director. Patients ion ventilators are also rarely admitted and would only be considered after an on-site evaluation. Brain injury referrals also require that the referral be on a physician to physician level.
