Suggested Report Content / Checklist for your report:

1) Introduction

2) Summary and explanation of descriptive statistics.

3) Inferential Statistics

a. You may want to include some theoretical background to the Normal (and Sampling) Distribution. Topics could include:

i. What is the Normal Distribution?

ii. Why is the Normal Distribution used in Sampling Distributions?

iii. What is the basis for Inferential Statistics?

b. You should include:

i. An explanation of your continuous random variable and sampling work

ii. An explanation of what a Confidence Interval / Hypothesis Test is;

iii. An insight into the construction of the interval/test;

iv. An interpretation of your Confidence Interval/ Hypothesis Test results;

4) Summary and Conclusion.

Note :

1. Since this report is to be submitted to your CEO who is not trained in Statistics, your report should be in ‘Layman’ English. Your important analysis work should be shown in the appendices, but the important findings of your analysis, and their implications should be incorporated in the main body.

2. Your report should adhere to the following:

a. Font type = Arial, Font size = 11, Line Spacing=1.5, Margin(all 4 borders) = 1”, Single-sided page.

b. Must list all members’ names and student numbers in Front Cover page.

c. Maximum page for “Main Body” ≤ 8 pages

d. Maximum pages for report (from Table of Content to last page of Appendices) ≤ 15 pages

e. Reference : Minimum 5 credible sources.

Souces must include – Data analysis, research, data collection, report writing,……With the data, discuss with the team on the ‘suitable’ topic for the project. This topic is to be ‘decided’ by your team, and should be based on a scenario ‘created’ by your team. Remember to state this topic in both the Executive Summary and Introduction, either in the form of “Problem Statement” or “Objective”.

For example, you may decide on the following topic : “Is Japan’s aging problem is more severe than Singapore?” and “Our aim is to test the hypothesis that the aging proportion in Japan is growing at a pace at least faster than Singapore. That is : Ho : µjapan ≥ µSingapore”.
