My work experience can be divided into two parts. I worked at Citibank on workdays, and during the weekend, I did some part-time work related to the management of online education in my father's company.

MANAGERIAL ROLE

1) Managerial role as a personal banker in Citibank

Strictly speaking, I did not do the management work in the conventional sense, more things I did every day was to manage clients' assets, and maintain good customer relations. I probably had more than 300 customers in my professional career. In order to more effectively manage customers, I classified customers into two groups. Firstly, I classified customers according to the book value of assets and risk preferences. Each financial products has its own properties, thus it should be analyzed from different angles. My purpose was to select the best investment portfolio for customers according to how much money they would like to invest and how much risk they could take. Secondly, I usually group my clients according to their activity degrees. For instance, I would suggest my clients with high activity to try the assets allocation in different fields. I recommended them to buy the funds from emerging countries. Also I gave them ideas about investing in different stock sector which helped them decrease the potential risks. Customers with a high degree of volatility in emerging markets may be timely buying and selling, thus taking the high-risk investment would make more profits. On the contrary, faced with customers with little time and low activity degree, I usually chose some funds from developed countries which would increase steady.

2) Managerial role as a Senior Citigold Associate in Citibank

I was responsible for organizing the financial lectures and activities when I was a Senior Citigold associate in Citibank. A part of my work is making reservation in advance for our activity venues and make sure the place would be available for us to use. A few weeks before the event begins, I would write a detailed planning and organize team members to discuss the feasibility of the plan. After determining the overall detailed planning, I assigned tasks to them individually according to their abilities. Before the event, we came to the venues we had reserved in person to make sure everything was prepared well. In most cases, I intended to write temporary emergency Plan B in case we encounter the unexpected circumstances at the event day.

3) Managerial role as a Project Manager in XXX Company

I led a team which was consisted of thirty three staffs to promote our products to the potential customers, the high school students and their parents, in the education and training organization. I arranged for three full-time marketing staff to conduct market research which was carried out mainly in the form of a questionnaire before we launched our products. After collecting questionnaire, we make statistics analysis based on the market data we had collected which could help us deduce the level of customer interest in our products, as well as the customer's preferences, that could allow us to improve the product efficiently before it launching. Besides, I would arrange 30 campus agents to promote our products in high school and education institutions. Generally speaking, we invited our customers to scan the QR code to download the app so that they could enjoy a simple and quick trial. If customer was satisfied with the products in the free trial period and wanted to continue using it, they would have to accept bundled subscription service.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

1) Supervisory role as a Senior Citigold Associate in Citibank

I was a supervisor of a team that included three or five members. As I mentioned above, Citibank held financial seminars and other big events for its customers and partner in each quarter, and most of time I was appointed to take charge in organizing these events with my team members. I assigned tasks to them according to their abilities. For example, one of our team members who used to work in different department may be clearly know the appropriate person that could be invited as the lecturer for our coming event based on his interpersonal network. Thus, I usually asked him to come up with some ideas of the suitable person who would bring our customers the impressive and unforgettable lectures. Under my strict scrutiny, all activities had achieved complete success.

2) Supervisory role as a Project Manager in XXX Company

I supervised and managed a team which was consisted of thirty three employees. I developed different Objectives Tasks Indicators for the campus agents and supervised their work to ensure they would complete the task efficiently. For instance, for the junior campus agent, the objective for him was to promote our products to customers and have they downloaded our APP at least seventy times every day. In the next day, I used the background data to work out the total frequencies of the QR code that had been scanned. Sometimes I went to their workplace to take a routine inspection of their work status.

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY

1) Budget responsibility as a Senior Citigold Associate in Citibank

Before the event I provided event plan book and indicated the each specific expenditure in the budget report to the relevant sponsors so as to make sure they would provide sufficient fund to prepare for lectures and events. I could minimize the budget since Citibank had built a good relationship with each partner so that we could freely use the venues. Also, the lecturer of each activity was come from the internal Citibank which helped us save amount of money for inviting whom from outside. I compared the flexible budget and actual budget and analyzed the difference of two so as to make more accurate budget estimate for the next event.

2) Budget responsibility as a Project Manager in XXX Company

To explain it straightforwardly, I would like to insert a table which I made before for budget analyzing. The direct labor budget analysis as you can see is a quarter wage budgets for one Junior Campus Agent. In April, this Agent should have his customers download our APP at least 2100 times. He will spend 3 minutes (0.05 hours) in taking care of one customer. Thus, the Total Labor Hour will be 105 hours. Since the Guarantee Labor Hours for each person is 108, we use 108 times Hourly Wage Rate to get Total Direct Labor Cost. If the Guaranteed labor hours are less than Labor Hours Required, we choose the higher one to calculate Total Direct Labor Cost. This is one of the examples of budget analysis I used before.
