Job Application and Interview Video Assignment
Instructions: 1. Create a three (minimum) to five (maximum) minute video presentation of yourself applying (you are making the request) for a job/position related to your Future Career Goal/Employment. Your job request to your future employer should be:
· Organized
· Relevant
· Informative
· Persuasive
· Professional
· Articulate
· Logical
*Review the video clip example in the Course Documents
2. Tips for the "Job Application" Video Assignment
· Identify a job posting
· Prepare a script for your video recording
· The script should start with the following sentences:
i. My name is ____________.
ii. I am a student in the Department of ___________________ at Eastern Kentucky University. Or I am a (sophomore) at Eastern Kentucky University.
iii. I am interviewing for the position of ________________.
· Review the rubric to ensure you understand how you will be evaluated
· Contact your instructor if you have any questions regarding this assignment
3. For grading purposes, there is a formal rubric that instructors are required to use. This rubric is located under the Course Document Tab. You are to demonstrate your understanding and application of the "Application Skills", "Making Requests" which includes the subskills:
· Checking things out
· Taking action with Reason.
