Module 4 Class 2
You are a quality analyst in a health information management department appointed to lead a project team. Your team must assess the problem with the documentation of the patient’s discharge disposition status in the health record and present your findings in a meeting to the department.
An increasing number of errors have been reported, and frustration among the coders has risen. These coders claim that conflicting information is often present in the record, requiring them to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to obtain verification. Coding productivity has been affected. Explain how you would assess the problem, strategies that you may develop to resolve the problem, and a way to study the effectiveness of your strategies. Give examples of tools you would use to present your findings in the meeting.

Database Management Concepts (100 Points)
You are a health information management student who has been asked to summarize and explain the concept of database management to your class. Your presentation should last no more than 20 minutes and must include discussion of significant areas within this topic. Explain what areas you would include in your presentation and why they are important. Explain what areas you would emphasize and examine why they should be emphasized.

The Life Cycle Process in IT Management (75 Points)
You have been appointed a member of the project management team at Anywhere Hospital, charged with determining an information technology solution to a change in legislation that affects the hospital. Many members of the team are from patient care disciplines with limited understanding of the life cycle process involved in IT project management. You have been tasked with educating your fellow team members about the life cycle process in IT project management. Explain the life cycle process, what information you would share with the members of your team and strategies that you could use to share the information.
