NOVEL OPINION
The city of Mexico had revolved from a small town to a complex town, and the Spanish Empire maintained the city and kept it homogenous. The ruling parties later adopted the capitalistic ideas that transformed the city from its poverty levels to prosperity. The upper class and the elegant people of the city later left the city to the middle class who lead a different form of life and eventually lead to the degradation of the European life introduced by first class people. The morality of the society decayed as a result of the homosexual life, and the majority of the people started living on the streets. Along with these changes, the literature of Mexico City changed, and they adopted a new form of a language such as Gustavo, the writer has been described as the master of the landscape and the hero of the land. He turned poverty, desperate sexuality and hunger into the magical transformation of positive and opportunistic life. He also viewed anyone who is unhappy to be their causative agents of their sadness.
The novel unfolds the aspects of parenthood and how parents play a very important role in the lives of the children and change in the society as a whole. As exhibited by their writer, the dad was the bread winner of the family, and he maintained the good life of their family through the plumbing business established in the City of Mexico. After the death of their mother, their dad was just about to sell all his business assets and migrate to Spain in order to build a good life for the children whose life seemed worthless from the struggles they had gone through when he was away.
The novel unfolds the aspect of death and the way it leads to negative effects in the lives of young people. After the death of their father, the writer's life took a new turn. Everything that they had possessed and their dad's business came to a fall after every asset possessed were sold by their half-brother leaving them at the verge of poverty. Poverty aspect has also been described by the writer from the beginning of the novel in which he describes himself as a person who came from a poor background and the way he has been living on the streets for a number of years. This depicts the poverty stricken city in which sexual perverseness is real from the expression of the woman who signed him and his brother from afar.
The aspect of moral decadency has been well brought out in the novel through. The writer describes how he started getting an unknown interest to sexual urge and his attraction to guys rather than women. This was the beginning of his gay nature from the imagination of the acts from the magazines he had viewed. Their father had more concern over their life together with their step brothers since he had seen the struggles that they were likely to go through after he died. The brother led a perverted life of drunkenness and a pessimistic attitude that nothing in life was worthwhile, and this lead to constant fights between him and his father. This establishes the life of moral decadence at a tender young age, and this led to the abandonment of school and entry into a life of drugs and sex.
His brother had a very unstable life, and he fought a lot with his dad and these fights eventually lead to the catastrophic death of their dad after their brother hit him with a shovel. The business established by their father collapsed after their half-brother sold all the assets and left them with nothing to run. The life of the writer reflects the modern life led by most youths in our country. Many of them do not care of what the future has in store for them, and all they are interested in is having fun. The aspect of death reflects on how life is temporary and everything we led will eventually come to an end. It explains that life is temporary, and hence it is good to utilize every opportunity we have in life to change for the better.
