There is a large population of immigrants in the US who are illegal. These illegal immigrants just like any citizen need health care attention. They flow in large numbers in the US health centers despite the fact the government having not budgeted for their health care. this leads to constraints of health resources and funds in the public hospitals(Southern California Health Association 2015). The part of the health care system affected most is the Medicaid where approximately 99 percent of the patients attended are illegal immigrants(Asbury, 2013) . The illegal immigrants have been receiving treatment in the public hospitals just because the law requires that every person who goes around the streets seeking health care to be treated

It is approximated that about 59 percent of the illegal immigrants in the US don’t have a health care insurance. This large percentage contributes to about $2 billion which is about 20 percent of the unreimbursed health care that most hos[itals in Southern California deliver every year. These illegal immigrants have been enjoying the Medicaid care without contributing even a single dime leading to the extra costs in the health care though it is law to treat every person in the need of health care irrespective of his immigration status.

  • There are many immigrants in the USA who entered the country illegally and are enjoying the Medicaid benefits.Despite them enjoying these benefits, they haven’t paid even a single dime. According to the Kaiser Health Care report, illegal aliens are barred by the federal law to get the Medicaid cover. In the legislation reform of health care, illegal immigrants are not insured (Cover, 2009). This reform has gone through the House of committees and has been working. These illegal immigrants have been receiving treatments in the public hospitals just because the law requires that every person who goes around the streets seeking health care to be treated.

Many of the illegal immigrants in the USA have been enjoying the Medicaid benefits without coughing even a single dime. This has greatly affected the economic status of many hospitals which offer the Medicaid services. According to the Kaiser Health Care report, illegal aliens are barred by the federal law to get the Medicaid cover. But despite this, they are still getting the Medicaid services.

  • The government can pay for the costs related to the health care of the illegal immigrants.
  • The government through the federal law can find ways of expanding the health care in the private sector to improve the health care of illegal immigrants.
  • The illegal immigrants can get the limited health care insurance through the Affordable Care Act.
  • Use of health care plans to acquire health insurance by students who are illegal immigrants in the higher learning education institutions.
  • To allow the illegal immigrant employees to benefit from the employer based health insurance.
  • The government to allow the community health centers to offer health care to the illegal immigrants.
  • Expansion of the Health Way L.A Unmatched program that offers health care to all undocumented immigrant patients.

Methods and tools that the government can use to address the influence of illegal immigrants on the health care

There is a need by the government to solve the influence of illegal immigrants on the health care system. The above methods and tools can provide a solution for this. The government can decide to par for the costs that hospitals are struggling to pay due to the influence of the illegal immigrants. Expansion of the private health care., use of the Affordable Care Act, allowing the community health centres to offer health to illegal immigrants and expanding the Health Way L.A Unmatched program can provide solutions to this problem.

  • The government paying for the health care costs of the illegal immigrants would be an effective way to deal with this health care issue (Khimm, 2010) . Budgeting for them will lessen the extra costs which are incurred by many public hospitals in the treatment of these illegal immigrants. The health care legislation reform requires that every person who goes seeking medical attention in a public hospital to be given.
  • The government has the capability of formulating laws of expanding the health care in the private sector so as to improve the care system of illegal immigrants (Khimm, 2010). This could be one of the most potential life and cost saving solution to cover the health care of the illegal immigrants. The federal government can open up new health insurance exchange to the whole population of the US regardless of the immigration status of an individual.
  • When students are applying to study in the higher learning education institutions, it isn’t a requirement for them to reveal their immigration status(Zamosky, 2014) . This is a policy that the government should leave it to continue since most of these illegal immigrants acquire a health care insurance.

How these methods relate to the health care reform

For the government to pay for the health care of illegal immigrants, it has to budget for it. Funding hospital with enough money will solve the economic influence of the illegal immigrants on the health care. Formulating of health care laws that support the expansion of the private sector health care will reduce the influence since some private health care have programs that standardize the health care costs. Through this, most of the illegal immigrants will find their way to these private hospitals.

  • The health legislation allows some companies to hire employees without consideration of their immigration status and offer the health insurance benefits(Zamosky ,2014). This has been again been one of the best ways in which illegal immigrants can get a health insurance. These employees can be able to sign up in a health insurance without a proof of their immigration status since it is not a requirement
  • The federal community health centers provide primary health care, pharmacy services, mental health and dental care (Khimm, 2010). They treat everyone who goes there to seek medical attention regardless of their immigration status and the ability to pay for the health care. This would be a probable solution to handle the health care issue of illegal immigrants.

Continuation

Some companies hiring employees despite their immigration status and offering them the health care benefits gives the illegal immigrants an opportunity to enroll into a health insurance. Most of the federal community health centers, offer health care without the consideration of the immigration status or their ability to pay for their health care treatment. This enables most of the illegal immigrants to get health care.

  • The Healthy Way L.A Unmatched program is a solution undocumented residents to get health care (Zamosky, 2014). This program offers primary health care to all the patients who are uninsured without considering their immigration status. There are also private health care institutions that offer health programs for children who are uninsured at standardized costs. Child Health Program is one of those programs.

Most of the undocumented residents are immigrants who entered the United States of America. The Health Way L.A unmatched program provides a solution in which these undocumented residents will be able to get the health care because they don’t have an insurance policy. Others are the programs that offer special health care for the children who lack a health insurance.

  • The government to budget for the illegal immigrants health care (Khimm, 2010). Budgeting for the health care of illegal immigrants will lessen the extra costs which are incurred by many public hospitals in the treatment of these illegal immigrants. The health care legislation reform requires that every person who goes seeking medical attention in a public hospital to be given.
  • The government should fund the federal government community health centers that provide health care to everyone who visits them (Khimm, 2010). This is because they provide primary health care, pharmacy services, mental health and dental care to all the patients. They treat everyone who goes there to seek medical attention regardless of their immigration status and the ability to pay for the health care.

The most effective methods for the government to solve the influence of illegal immigrants on the health care.

The government budgeting for the illegal immigrants would be the most suitable method to handle this economic issue. The government has the final say since it’s the only body that is controlling this nation. It should give sufficient funds to the federal community health centers to help these hospitals run efficiently.

  • The public hospitals mainly are funded by the government.
  • Health insurance scheme is another way in which the health care facilities get funding.
  • There are also some programs which are developed by some private hospitals to offer services for standardized costs to the undocumented immigrants. This is how the get their funding.
  • In some hospitals, the patients must pay after being attended.

Various payment sources and mechanisms used in the health care industry.

Most of the public health centers get their funding from the government. Through the Ministry of Health, hospitals are allocated funds according to their operations. Health insurance is another mechanism in which most of the hospitals use to get funding. Other hospitals have special programs that they use in order to help their patients to pay for their health care services. Some hospitals especially in the private sector, get funding from their patients as an exchange of the health care services offered.

*

  • The government after budgeting for the health care of illegal immigrants, give enough funds to all the public hospitals in order to resolve the economic problem in these hospitals.
  • The government should put measures on the hospitals in the private sector to offer medical health care at standardized costs. This because most of the illegal immigrants prefer the private hospitals its only that they may not afford the high charges they charge.

Most effective payment sources and mechanisms to solve the economic issue

The government funding the health care is the most effective method for the hospitals to get their funding. The government has many ways of getting funds to facilitate health care in its regions. The government can also put measures on the programs which have been generated by the private sector to help the patients raise the amount of money required for payment of the health care services.

*

  • Budgeting for the health care of illegal immigrants.
  • The government to reimburse hospitals after offering health care to the illegal immigrants.
  • The government to give sufficient funds the public hospitals and if possible to fund them with extra money to avoid such economic issues.
  • The government to expand the private sector hospitals so that they can accommodate the largest possible number of patients.
  • The government to ensure there are favorable programs that are used by the private sector hospitals to get funds. Programs that do not exploit the patients.

Steps needed to implement these solutions

The government budgeting for the health care of illegal immigrants is the first step of implementing these solutions. The next step is to reimburse the hospitals for all the expenses which have been incurred in the health care of illegal immigrants. The government should also formulate laws that support expansion of the private health care sector. It should then regulate the programs in the private health care to ensure that the patients are not exploited at all.
