A study, involving 1,000 students, was conducted to determine the relation between SAT scores and first year GPA at a certain university.  Students in the study had on average an overall SAT score of 1200 the standard deviations was about 30.  The average first year GPA was 2.8 with a standard deviation of about 0.65.  The correlation coefficient was 0.7.  A student that had a percentile rank of 85% on the SAT can expect to do better than Blank 1 students, out of 1000, in their first year (round to the nearest whole number).

A die is rolled four times, the chance that at least one of the rolls was a three is Blank 1.

Assume you have a well shuffled deck.  The chances that when you draw two cards from the top of the deck both are queens is Blank 2.

Assume you have a well shuffled deck.  The chance that the first card you draw from the top of the deck is an ace or a king is Blank 3.

Assume you have a well shuffled deck from which you draw five card from the top. The chance you draw an ace of hearts and then the remaining cards you draw are also hearts is Blank 4.

Question 5

Based on the following information:

Average midterm score: 70         SD ≈ 5

Average final score: 80                SD ≈ 10

The correlation coefficient was approximately 0.6.

 

Overall, the percentage of students that got greater than 95 on the final exam was about Blank 1%.  Of the students that scored an 80 on the midterm exam, about Blank 2% of students got greater than 95 on the final exam.
