Realm Study: Paper
Objective: To study geographical principals of a Realm, Region, and Countries
Rubric: Grading Criteria for Each Paper o (10%) MLA: o (25%) Organization of Paper
o Has good Introduction, body, and concluding paragraph o Followed the outline offered in the instructions.
o (25%) Visuals supporting the points made within the paper o (25%) Collects Relevant Information o (15%) Synthesizes Information offering analysis
Instructions: Use MLA Format:

Outline: 1) Write an introduction giving a brief overview and ‘relative location’ of the Realm of your choice.
2) Summarize Section A for the Realm (Entire Chapter for Austral or Pacific Realm) a) ‘Relative Location’ of the Realm within the world b) Size in Area and Population, and General Physiography c) Various topics within Section A
3) Comparative Two Countries from different or Same Regions (regions for each Realm are listed and mapped at the beginning of Section B)
1) Write a Brief Overview of 2 Regions (or sub-regions, depending on Realm) o Relative Location of Region(s) and Countries within Realm and World o Physiography o Ethnic groups and languages spoken
2) Write briefly about each Country’s specific information’ o Time Zone(s) o Threats to Safety and Security o Vaccines necessary or recommended to travel in your study

Briefly explain the Birth and Death Rate within each stage.
Make a statement as to what ‘Stage of Development’ the two countries may be within, and briefly explain why you believe it is in that stage.
Describe types of events that could affect population such as war, disease, government structures, and population policies.

The back of the Textbook offers only one year of data. However, please compare several years of population data.
