This image is related to a film in that, it shows that High priest when he lead the sacrificial ceremony. Since the priest in the film was the one who was responsible to offer the sacrifices to god, he lead the team that participated in the sacrificial ceremony. “During the ceremony, the victims are splayed on a column at the top of a pyramid, and a priest cracks their ribcage open with an obsidian knife to pluck out their still-beating hearts” (Foster & Lynn, 2005).

This image is related to the film in that, during war, the bad Mayans who invaded peaceful Mayans wore epaulettes made of human jawbones. The image depicts how the warriors were prepared themselves during wars. The warriors who participated in the war dress in a different way unlike other who did not take part in any war. According to Andrien & Kenneth (2002), “warriors who belong to the bad Mayan group look scowling, had weirder facial piercings and wore epaulettes made of human jawbones.”

This image is related to the film in that, the image shows people who are sacrificed. In the film, those captives who ware captured by the warriors were taken to the prison so that they were used as sacrifices to gods. During sacrificial day, the captives in the film who were to be sacrificed were taken to the top of the pyramid where they were splayed. “After the captives were splayed on the top of the pyramid, the priest then take part in cracking their ribcage open with an obsidian knife to pluck out their still-beating hearts” (Jones & Grant, 1998).

This image is related to the film in that, the image depicts a courageous man who is waiting to fight. In the film Jaguar Paw was a courageous man who when he escapes during solar eclipse, he went to the jungle and start fighting back his pursuers. According to Jones & Grant (1998), “Jaguar Paw when he though what his father had told hi, “never give in to fear”, he turned back to the pursuers who were chasing him and began to fight them back with a lot of courage.”

This image relates to the film in that, during invasion of the good Mayans, the bad Mayans take the good Mayans prisoner, and march them off to the big city. This film shows that good Mayans being marched to the big city. In the big city, the captives were put in prison in order to be used as sacrifices that were offered to the gods. “Human sacrifices in the Mayan kingdom was believed to prevent god’s destruction of crops and also prevented human suffering in the area” (Foster & Lynn, 2005).

This image relates to the movie in that, it depicts a person who is running to save his life. In the film, during the eclipse, Jaguar Paw escapes from the prison in order to run back home to save his family. When he escapes, Jaguar Paw was chased by the bad Mayans who were considered to be the soldiers in the kingdom. “Jaguar Paw, when he escaped during the solar eclipse run and succeeded without being recaptured by his pursuers” (Jones & Grant, 1998).
