The Great Depression is one of the most remarkable times in world history. Many internet resources give their accounts of the depression and reviewing some of these websites is imperative in gaining a better understanding of the period. One of the websites that gives a detailed account of the Great Depression is hyperhistory.com. Most of the websites that discuss the Great Depression leave many details unaccounted. However, this website offers a detailed explanation and analysis of the great depression by offering a timeline[footnoteRef:1]. A timeline is effective for it allows one to go through all the aspects associated with the period. Despite the fact that the information given in a timeline is brief, it covers all aspects. American Experience is another website that critically discusses the Great Depression. This website is effective for it explains the depression and explains to the readers the state of the economy during the Great Depression. This website is more informative as compared to the former and this is because it focuses on some aspects of the depression such as the level of imbalance that existed between the rich and the poor[footnoteRef:2]. This is an effective website to visit if one wishes to get an in-depth perception of the state of affairs during the Great Depression. Despite the fact that the website does not visit all aspects of the depression, it effectively offers the reader information that can assist one who intends to understand select aspects of the depression. Another effectiveness of the website noticed is regarding the manner in which it highlights important names of characters by marking them with different colors. The marking is a remarkable step taken by the website because it ensures that people do not struggle in their attempt to understand or rather note the various important characters present in the period.
