ENGR�1550�Homework�7� MiniͲGolf�Project�Planning�
Due�October�27th�(Bring�2�copies�Ͳ�printed�version�of�this�to�class)� � We�are�starting�the�miniͲgolf�project!� A�key�aspect�to�that�problem�is�to�create�a�design�for�a�miniͲgolf�hole�that�meets�the�needs�of:�the�owner(s),�players,� and�adheres�to�all�course�requirements�(project�constraints).� �
1. Read�the�MiniͲGolf�Project�Document�posted�in�BlackBoard�prior�to�the�miniͲgolf�field�trip�on�10/23/14.� 2. Class�on�10/22/15�will�be�held�at�the�Creekside�Golf�Dome�in�Girard�(6.5�miles�from�campus)�
1300�North�State�Street�(422),�Girard,�Ohio,�44420��330Ͳ545Ͳ5000� www.thecreeksidegolfdome.com� Map�/�directions�are�posted�in�BlackBoard� � All�students�that�requested�transportation�will�be�contacted�via�eͲmail�to�meet�at�the�loading�dock�of�Moser� Hall�(by�the�dumpsters�outside�the�building�facing�Lincoln�Avenue)�15�minutes�prior�to�the�start�of�class�–� and�you�will�be�back�in�time�for�your�next�class.��If�you�need�to�change�your�transportation�preference�(own� transportation�vs.�university�vehicles),�please�eͲmail�[email protected]�(vans�will�leave�10�min�prior�to�the� start�of�class)� � Attendance�will�be�taken�for�course�credit�–�you�will�be�playing�the�18�hole�outdoor�miniͲgolf�course�/9� holes�indoors�with�your�new�project�team.��� �
3. Individually,�you�must�write�up�an�idea�for�a�miniͲgolf�hole�addressing�the�following:� a. Explain�your�concept�for�a�hole�including�the�“theme”�–�15�pts�
i. Show�a�properly�formatted�figure�(use�SolidWorks,�PowerPoint,�or�a�neat�hand�sketch�to� layout�the�concept)�–�10�pts�
b. How�will�you�address�each�of�the�project�constraints�outlined�in�the�project�document�(elevation� change,�bend�in�the�course,�at�least�2�potential�approaches,�etc.)�–�25�pts�
c. How�will�you�address�the�concerns�stated�by�the�owner�/�golf�pro�from�the�Creekside�Golf�Dome�at� the�outing�on�10/23?�–�25�pts�
d. Discuss�at�least�1�idea�that�you�took�from�playing�the�outdoor�course�–�15�pts� i. Show�a�properly�formatted�figure�that�is�a�picture�of�that�aspect�of�the�course��(for�example,�
you�could�show�a�photo�of�an�approach�for�an�elevation�change�or�a�bend�that�you�thought� was�interesting)�–�10�pts� �
Bring�2�hard�copies�to�class�on�Tuesday,�October�27th:��(1)��Keep�1�to�discuss�with�your�team�and�(2)�Turn�in�a�hardcopy� to�your�TA.��You�do�not�have�to�follow�a�memo�format�(although�you�can�if�you�want),�but�be�sure�to�indicate�your�name� and�section�number.����
This�is�an�individual�assignment,�so�please�keep�another�hardcopy�of�your�assignment�so�you�can�discuss�it�with�your� new�project�team�in�an�upcoming�class�meeting.�
