Option #1: Academic Writing

Some of the major components in scholarly writing include supporting ideas with research, being objective in your writing, discussing both sides of a topic, and writing in a clear, concise, direct manner. Choose a topic that can be considered controversial and write a paper about that topic using these concepts of academic writing.

Your well-written paper should meet the following requirements:

4 – 5 pages in length

Formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements

Cite a minimum of three scholarly sources, at least one of which is not provided in, or linked from, the course.

Adheres to the standards laid out in the rubric, which can be found in the Module 6 folder

Write clearly and logically, as you will be graded on content, analysis, and your adherence to the tenets of good academic writing, which should be succinct where possible while also exploring the topics appropriately. Remember that you can always improve your work by providing support from outside scholarly sources, which help both to bolster your own assertions and supplement your ideas. The CSU-Global Library is a great place to find scholarly sources. Reach out to your instructor if you have questions about the assignment.
