Annotated bibliography
This annotated bibliography contains a sampling of research with implications for The Internet. Below this introduction I cited six sources containing books, articles and websites talking about the Internet issues. Internet has affected kids, teens and adults. It has also made our brains slower and cannot focus. The Internet is not a bad technology but if not carefully used it may have more harm than good. Some of the writers agree that Internet can become an addiction. Online privacy is also one of the serious issues.
1
Carr, Nicholas. "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" The Atlantic. Atlantic Media Company, 01 July 2008. Web. 22 July 2015.
In this article, Carr argues that the Internet is changing the way our minds work. In his view, we are becoming shallower thinkers because of the overabundance of information in new media. Carr’s experience as a technology writer and The Atlantic’s reputation as a magazine lends this argument a high level of credibility. Carr is known to be critical of the Internet’s social impact, so that should be taken into account.
2
Carr, Nicholas G. <i>The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains</i>. New York: W.W. Norton, 2010. Print.
In this book Nicholas Carr’s central point, is that our brains change based on the technology we use and the technology we use changes our brains. He also said that the sheer volume of messages and the web’s very design are changing our brains away from deep thought toward more rapid response and that in that change we are losing our ability to think deeply. This means that we really need to be careful with whatever information we find in the internet because we may fill our brains with things that are irrelevant. The source has clearly described what the internet may do to us in terms of damage.

Flaherty, Anne. Yahoo! News. Yahoo! Web. 23 July 2015.
This source provided the best information compared to all other sources. It contained very important information regarding internet privacy. It stated that eighty percent of people do not like to share their personal information online. One person by the name Wingo said that people do not have to share their details just because they were on the internet. The study found that sixty eight percent of people agreed that the law is insufficient to protect their privacy.
4
"Internet Addiction a Real Problem for U.S. Kids." <i>Internet Addiction a Real Problem for U.S. Kids</i>. N.p., n.d. Web. 22 July 2015.
This website focuses specifically on the dangers of the Internet for kids and the parenting style linked to kids' Internet addiction. The Internet has become an addiction that affects about eight to twelve percent of U.S. children. Dr. Christakis says that if the Internet is a bad thing and it should be treated just like any other bad drug. He also advises parents to ensure that they monitor how their children use the internet, before it becomes an out of hand problem.
5
"Is the Internet Making Us Dumber or Smarter?" Is the Internet Making Us Dumber or Smarter? Web. 23 July 2015.
This Gulf news website discusses how the internet has changed our lifestyle in various important ways, especially in everything related to information, knowledge and communication. This viewpoint emphasizes the drastic decline in people’s attention span and now seem unable, or at least unwilling, to memorize anything even simple facts about the world since we can instantly Google that information up.

"The Internet Is More Harmful than Helpful." <i>CNN I Report</i>. N.p., n.d. Web. 22 July 2015.
In this CNN report, Internet has more harm than help, if used wrongly because of the negative effects on children, teens and adults. People should be slightly less dependent on the internet and immediate access because it is important to exercise the brain as well as the fingers. Many human brains have grown reliant on Internet, and because of this it has made their brains less likely to remember information
These are the sources I found helpful for my annotated bibliography.
