AR310 Ancient Art: Tombs and Treasures (WK2 Discussion)

· Conventions

In Week 1 and Week 2 we read about how the Egyptians depicted the human figure. For example, if we look at King Narmer on his palette, we can see that Egyptians adhered to artificial conventions that may seem odd to us. Describe one of these “Conventions” of how the Egyptian figure is depicted – Why do you think they did this?

Make sure to respond to TWO of your classmates’ initial postings. Responses to peers should also be substantial and contribute to the discussion of the topic.

Please respond to the initial question by day 5 and be sure to post two additional times to peers and/or instructor by day 7. The initial post by day 5 should be 75 to 150 words, but may go longer depending on the topic. If you use any source outside of your own thoughts, you should reference that source. Include solid grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling.

WK2 Quiz CO101 Intro to Public Speaking

· Question B

For our next speech analysis, we’ll take a look at J. Douglas Jeffreys, MCP, and his keynote presentation.

The context for this speech is completely different than the orator from Week 1, however I do want you to evaluate what this speaker does well, and what he does poorly. Also – compare this video to the presentation you saw in Week 1. What’s the same? What’s different (besides the obvious, like location, purpose, etc.) Evaluate this video as if you were giving this presenter a grade.

Please watch this short video, then share your thoughts and reactions in the discussion board.
