· Do you believe that American society as a whole is predisposed to ethical or unethical It seems as Americans that the society as a whole is predisposed to ethical behavior. It seems that after looking at the cases that most humans see the wrong doings in the criminals that have committed. Looking at the case where Dr. Farid Fata was giving drugs to patients that did may not have needed the drugs. This crime was not only committed against the human taking the drug but against Americans since Farid was using Medicare Money to pay for procedures that were not necessary for all of his patients but was still proceeding with the cancer fighting drugs. The jury saw this and convicted him to the crimes.

Also looking at the case of Gary Sellers and Robert Bell these men thought they were doing a justice of trying to run a man that had been convicted of the crime of having Child Pornography. These men thought by running Timothy Chandler out of their small community they were doing community justice. But Seller and Bell did not know when they set Chandler’s home on fire that Mr. Chandler’s wife would be trapped inside. The fact that the men thought they were doing the ethical thing turned into unethical due to the murder of an incent women.

· Identify ethical considerations for the future of criminal justice. What may be done to reduce ethical violations in the criminal justice profession?

It seems as Americans that there is little to no trust in the way our criminal justice systems works. There needs to be as a whole more education to the public so that if in when a decision is made for a person being released from a jail or prison there is not back lash from the community. Also like with the case about abortion there were revisions to the law so not only does it help protect the mother but also the baby. People need to understand that these laws are not just to help make sure that persons rights or protected but to protect the person the law affects.

Looking over the cases it seems that yes the criminal justice profession is held to a different standard than the rest of the Americans. Which in reality this needs to be done because they are people that are to be upholding the law. It seems that the people of the criminal justice profession need to have harsher consequences when ethical violations are made. The standard to keep these criminal justice professionals are to be set higher so the violations need to be convicted at a tougher standard.
