Pollution Prevention
Introduction
Pollution prevention refers to the reduction of the pollutants that are generated through a process. The process could be the industrial production, consumption or driving. The majority of the strategies seek to manage the pollutants after they have been released and damage the environment. However, pollution prevention establishes policies that will reduce the pollution of the environment. The pollution prevention includes not only the environment but also the human population. The approach is meant to enhance a company's image of responsibility to the community, cost-effectively reduces waste, optimizes use materials, minimizes worker exposure to toxic substances, and improves a product's competitiveness in local and world markets, and. As a result, reduce, reuse and recycle strategy actually meets the needs of pollution prevention as the environmental agencies desire because it is cost-effective, optimizes the material and enhance the community’s image.
Background
The idea in reduce, reuse, and recycle strategy is cost effective. The approach can be used in businesses, companies or by the individuals. They can use the pollutant to make other products that are not hazardous to the environment. For example, the companies can dispose of the harmful materials or gasses in safe ways far from the environs with human populations. Additionally, people can recycle plastic bags or old materials in creating new objects (Theodore, et. al., 1999). Pollution began with the emission of harmful substances in the environment. The practice has increased across the globe leading to climatic changes. The changes have an adverse impact on the people and the environment due to the damage on the ozone layer (Marcus, et. al., 2002). As a result, the environmental agencies establish ways that will reduce pollution of the environment.
Methods
The method of research would include interviews, questionnaires and literature reviews. The methods are aimed at accumulating data on methods of pollution prevention to protect the environment. Secondly, using secondary information will provide ideas and findings by other researchers or studies. The qualitative approach offers an opportunity to establish the challenges that have led to environmental pollution. They will also provide information on practical means of pollution prevention.
Results
The results will establish that pollution prevention is essential and practical in the modern community. It will also prove that the method is cost-effective. Also, the approach is meant to cost-effectively reduces waste, minimizes worker exposure to toxic materials, optimizes use materials, improves a product's competitiveness in local and world markets, and enhances a company's image of responsibility to the community. The strategy will also be marketed to ensure that the communities, businesses, and organizations adhere to the pollution prevention means. Consequently, pollution prevention can be done by spreading the idea on reduce, reuse and recycle, amongst the people. As a result, the research will convince more people on the significance of pollution prevention.
Conclusion
Pollution prevention will not only protect the human population but also safeguard the environment. The practice of reducing, reusing and recycling of material ensures that the environment is clean and conducive at all times. Besides, the strategy is cost-effective and manageable by the large population.
