Discussion Question

This is a two-part discussion.

DQ.1  It is ironic that at the same time that we are struggling with privacy issues relative to our national security - we are also reviewing privacy issues related to our personal behavior – such as shopping online. Isn’t it true that we have been pushed into situation where we will are forced to accept that our behavior is going to be tracked by technology and by other means too.

But, class, wouldn't you rather give up some privacy if it means that in the long run our country is protected from cyber-attacks? We, as individuals are easier targets of identity theft. Not a pleasant thought, but there are things we can all do to help deter and prevent personal cyber-attacks - right? What are some of those things?

DQ.2 Read the case in Chapter 8 entitled "HOW SECURE IS YOUR SMARTPHONE?" and answer the following: What steps can individuals and businesses take to make their smartphones more secure?

Your primary discussion responses each week will use complete sentences, proper grammar and spelling and should be at least 250 words.  Please answer the question completely and thoroughly.  Refer to the textbook and external sources, being certain to properly include in-text citations and a reference at the end of your primary discussion response.  All reference listings should follow APA guidelines.  References will be placed at the end of the post and will be single-spaced and not contain any indentation.

This is the book that we are using!
