Several approaches have been made to improve cancer treatment in the world today. To begin with, by considering the limitations cancer patients suffered in the past, researchers have come up with effective ways to help cure and control the level of cancer spread in the world. Through formulating new ways of combining drugs to come up with quality medicines with advanced healing capabilities. It has become unproblematic to offer cancer cure with new techniques (Dicker, Kelly, Trabulsi, & In Zaorsky, 5, 2015).
Initially, drugs produced caused a lot of side effects to the patients but currently, cancer drugs has been carefully modified and checked to assure they do not cause any side effects to the patients to increase their life span (Sabaté, & World Health Organization, 39, 2003). By the invention of cancer screening machine, people can diagnose themselves at an early stage. This makes it easier for treatment at an early stage as well as it helps in controlling unlike initially where the machines were not readily available.
The financial burden is one of the major problem cancer patients undergo. Managing the cost of medication a cancer patient requires is too high in most of the families. This makes it harder for most of the patients to follow the doctor’s prescription due to the high cost. Although cancer treatment has presently improved, not all patients can afford it, therefore there is still much to be done to make sure all patients receive equal treatments (Sabaté, & World Health Organization, 11, 2003).
In conclusion, the current approach to prevention of cancer brings some of the side effects to the patients. After the treatment, some of the patients are at a higher risk of getting heart and kidney problems. Moreover, the causes of cancer have not been fully dealt with. Currently, most of the people still smoke ignoring the fact that it causes lung cancer. The current method of dealing with cancer is not effective in the sense that some people have not been educated on necessary measures to prevent themselves from being affected.
