The theme of immigration and emigration in the Early American history entails the movement of people to United States from Europe, Africa, and Asia since early 1600. Immigration and emigration theme has been selected due to the fundamental role it has in defining the diversity and the dream of the American Society. The history of immigration and emigration resonates critical in the U.S history because it demonstrates how America became exceptional among other nations globally. Consequently, the theme of immigration and emigration will help in discovering intensively how the different group of people found their way into U.S and the diverse challenges they faced in shaping the current U.S society.

The perspective of immigration and emigration in U.S has changed over time due to security issues. The trend of increasing terrorism, drug trafficking, and piracy has seen the perspective of immigration and emigration in U.S changing from an economic issue to a security issue. In the past, immigration and emigration in U.S were seen as a critical factor in enhancing the economy of America due to the diverse and rich skills and talents imported to the country. In contrast, the immigration and emigration have taken the security issue due to the fear of immigrants posing terror, drug trafficking, or piracy threats to the United States society. Thus, the immigration and emigration laws and policies in the new perspective are highly based on the security threat. The change on the perspective of immigration and emigration has the potential of hindering one in appreciating how it was critical in shaping the early U.S society. Similarly, the proportion or size of the information on the theme of immigration and emigration in the early history will affect the project research been undertaken. Consequently, the researcher has the potential of been unable to capture adequate and relevant information from the past research undertaken in the project. The potential of been unable to identify enough information and data on the immigration and emigration might frustrate the objective of undertaking the research project. The context of the immigration and emigration theme in the history of U.S will also, affect the theme project. Immigration and emigration in U.S has highly affected by other themes and events in the history of the country. One of the events that have affected the immigration and emigration pattern in U.S is wars. The different events of wars the U.S has been involved has influenced the flow of foreigners in the country by hindering some immigrants of certain origin. Similarly, economic recession and boom events in U.S have also affected the immigration and emigration in the history. Moreover, the recent immigration and emigration policies and laws formulated in U.S have significantly affected the context of the theme. In undertaking the project research of the theme identified, a qualitative methodology of undertaking a research will be employed. The qualitative approach implies non-numeric information will be collected from secondary sources in undertaking the research analysis. The secondary sources information involves information that already available from other publications and research projects. Consequently, one of the sources of searching the research information will be from the University library. Under the online library of South University, vital sources of accessing the information will be identified. The sources containing the information been sought will be availed from the online library platform by inserting the theme topic under the academic resources space of the course home portal. Consequently, numerous secondary sources carrying the information will be easily accessed. Similarly, valuable non-governmental and government websites will be employed in collecting the secondary information. The immigration department website portal is one of the valuable government websites that will be used in accessing the information due to the rich information it has on immigration and emigration related issues.
