You need to look at cost benefit.

If we don’t have enough water what the cost of that?

What we California people are going to loss water or food product? Which one they will choose? What will happen if they only choose water to live? What will happen if they choose food to live? This is should be your thinking in this paper. Look at it again and resend it tome please

Abstract

Water remains a rare resource in the United States, but among the greatest hit states is California which highly depends on surface water (lakes, rivers and streams), or still water pumped from the ground (ground water). Ground water reservoirs impact much on the capacity supplied throughout the State. It is worth noting that ground water plays an integral part in times when drought hits the state. The fact that surface water is not distributed evenly makes the ground water a reliable source. The reduction of water capacity (both surface and ground) poses a bigger threat to human survival (of water or food). As noted, human activities lead to global warming and are responsible for much of the effects felt by the continued droughts around the United States of America, notably the California and Texas have experienced persistent droughts. The domestic users and agriculturalists have explained that the situation has become unbearable in this drought plagued state, stirring motions that there is a dire need to turn the attention to the nearby Pacific Ocean and desalinate its water so as to meet the growing need, a move which will help to upgrade the water levels (Cederblom, 2012).

An obvious impact of water insufficiency, as explained by Tom Buschatzke, the Director of Arizona Department of Water Resources is a negative impact on the numerous farmers whose crops are the epitome of the country’s economy. Tremendous steps need to be taken to address this, just as it has happened in the State of Arizona where steps have been taken to address problem through various technological approaches. The more drought tolerant farming techniques have benefitted the Arizonians and the concept must also apply in California.

Introduction

Explain the problem here please

Close to 300,000 acre feet of land is perceived to suffer by year 2017 from the effect of this draught if this menace continues. On the other hand, several prominent individuals in Arizona believe that healthy forests are linked to healthy water. Bodies like the Nature Conservancy among others have tried to push the federal forest service to initiate the approval of the Four Forest Restoration Initiative. Considering that the erosion that directly goes to the water reserves are costly to remove (Moore) year, a number of mechanisms have been addressed that can be utilized to drive water conservation a notch higher (Moore)year. It is important, as the draught lingers, that conservation be encouraged to save the waters. More and more forces must join hands to propagate conservation initiatives. Citation

The Department of Water Resource survey reveals that Arizona seems to be the safest territory (Moore)year. However, the danger posed by the draught has been predicted to take longer than it is anticipated. The activities like fruit farming have been found to overuse water, which is clearly a human activity whose benefits are as far reaching as the drawbacks. This exercise is quickly exhausting the ground water that has effects of causing more droughts. Contrasting this, a higher population percentage is reliant on agriculture for survival; therefore what must be considered is the impact of these activities on human living. Citation

Approaches and Results

why practice managements didn’t change and how can they change? Please explain it here

The report that the ranging drought has hit California has stirs debates as to whether or not measures and approaches can be employed to harness water volumes. The conservation of major water bodies like rivers, lakes as well as ground water is paramount. Interestingly, higher food production levels will be achieved only if more water is used to meet this objective. The article written by Justin Gillis observes that a plan approximating $1billion is to be initiated to desalinate salty ocean water ensuring that it is rendered consumable by those residing in these major states, among them California. This transformational move gears towards ensuring that more water is made available for domestic use, a concept embraced by the neighboring state of Texas and countries like Israel.

The sustained fruits growth and water conservation remain of equal importance to the locals; therefore both must be managed properly to promote their lives. Growing more plants among them fruits minimizes any chances of greenhouse effect caused by notorious gases that are emitted into the atmosphere. Worse still, it is a worry to the activists that the move towards desalination will even cause more harm than good by worsening the climatic conditions through gaseous emissions by factories carrying out the processes. The cost of carrying out the desalination process is another area of concern. This process is believed to make water costs go high due to the rigid processes associated with such rigid and expensive procedures.

The technological advancements in the state of Arizona plays an integral role to ensure that water flows uniformly throughout the irrigation systems following the recognition by the agriculturalists that they live in arid zones. The forest restoration initiative is a move taken by the federal service to reclaim the forestlands which impacts positively on the erosion. Additionally, plants absorb excess carbon dioxide that leads to global warming. As people seek an answer for whoever gains the most once this move is adopted, the surface water bodies among them rivers like the Colorado River highly benefit from such as important step. What drives these changes is the fact that the rehabilitation process concerns the people of California (Moore)year.

Industrialization and population growth are quickly growing thus the water conservation moves remain very significant to ensure that the initial objectives are met which are to maintain the desired sanitation levels as well as providing water that is consumable by the citizens. The transition between the contemporary situations to a stage of environmental sustainability happens to be the cause of concern for the interested individuals. It seems that it will take too long for the laws initiated to take full effect and remedy the situation. Citation

The California case presented in the article depicts a situation in which the people are torn between the significant provisions that arise from farming in comparison to the environmental effects the extensive use of underground water has (Gillis & Richtel, 2015). With an ever-increasing fear that the groundwater sources are depleting, researchers and experts are even more worried that the end of the drought will prompt people to look for survival ways that will further cause harm to the water through global warming.

Recommendations

Give some recommendation of water cost too

Water bodies need to be preserved through initiatives that have not been mentioned throughout the article. Among the water bodies to be conserved is the Colorado River ensuring that all the waters are safe for the growing number of population. Additionally, since the article Beneath California Crops, Groundwater Crisis Grows has not stated the move that ought to be considered between water conservation and the ideal that the fruits grown are equally life sustaining, better measures must be addressed on the best possible way to balance these such that the overall effect is not severe and far reaching. The concerned parties must address all the aspects beforehand concerning such fundamental areas. A large number of supporting arguments including the response from the government, expert perceptions, geographical bases and future outcomes have been tabled to support the deteriorating aspect of ground water (Gillis & Richtel, 2015). However, the mere mentioning of dependency to fruits and farmers as well as pressure from the current draught does not fully counteract the argument tabled for the groundwater. It is therefore logical that the argument is biased to inflict more sympathy towards saving underground water than promoting farming in the region. The article highlights an important aspect of human-environment interaction that members of the California community must take keen considerations to remedy. To establish a good balance that will help survive after the drought and deep in the future, the people must analyze the arguments presented and come up with the most appropriate approach that will be sensitive to each aspect tabled. In spite of the concern the article highlights as with regards to the environment, human survival is also very important, a part played by the farming activities. Californians actually have a big decision to make (Cederblom, 2012).

While efforts to conserve water and reuse the existing supplies are in order, they fall quite below the rising needs of cities in various places of the globe. In keeping with the unequivocal urgent need for water, nations and cities should embrace desalination plants. The move will ensure that people have enough water for consumption and maintenance of adequate levels of sanitation (GILLIS, 2015). However, desalination plants’ engineers, developers, and environmental activists should show ardent effort in implementing the recommendations. Among the initiatives to be undertaken is to develop innovative and appropriate ways of conserving, purifying or treating, and reusing existing water resources. The other measurer is to harness the renewable energy such as wind and solar power to power the power-hungry desalination plants. Lastly, the Implementation of environmental conservation measures and pollution prevention measures to reduce further deterioration of the environment is also fundamental to sustainable resource utilization.

Summary

Write the difference information between recommendation and summary

One of the most contemporary controversial aspects of nature that has befallen California is the impact of human activities on the environment, the article depicts that California seems to keep streaming in crops like oranges and tomatoes despite the water crisis that has existed before the draught. Fundamentally, the article airs concerns about the overuse of groundwater by fruit farmers (Gillis & Richtel, 2015). The article also highlights a number of factors that arise as a consequence of this misuse. Being forced to do this by the current climatic conditions and the fact that the Californian population depends, to a large extent on their provisions, the article clearly states that if proper management is not endorsed, the farmers will not be able to function in their capacity in the near future.

Sinking of the land surface and permanent damage of saturated layers of sand or clay are some of the consequences of this phenomenon in California. Additionally, Gov. Jerry Brown imposed the first ever-mandatory cuts in urban water use through which he exempted farmers who already had to deal with water cuts as a result of their farm activities (Gillis & Richtel, 2015). The article further explores the significance of groundwater to California, citing the drought as a factor that has made its significance even more visible.

The transition between the contemporary situations to a stage of environmental sustainability happens to be the cause of concern for the interested individuals. It seems that it will take too long for the laws initiated to take full effect and remedy the situation.

In the end here please write something if you were a public health responsible what you would do ?
