FORMS OF DATA: OBSERVATIONS, INTERVIEWS AND QUESTIONNAIRES 5
EDU 675: Change Leadership for Differentiated Educ. Envmnt
Action research is a form of research that is normally used to solve the resultant and immediate grievance. In this case therefore this practice is mostly done on community based agendas and several people come together so as they can work together as team towards finding means of improving the way people solve their grievances as well as address their issues. The purpose of my study therefore is to involve myself in this mode of research as an active member who is ready to change the situation more so in the organizations with the aim of addressing strategies they can use to combat various problems they encounter in their surroundings prior the operations within which they practice their obligations.
The following are my research questions:
· Will the strategy be useful in various organizations to help in time management among the employees and the administration?
· Will the strategy be vital in making the students change their study skills as well as their habits?
· How will the plan be crucial to the community? Will it be beneficial to the Home Owners organizations’ meetings?
In this case I am going to use three forms of data based on how they will serve towards making my research very informed. These forms of data include interviews, observations as well as questionnaire questions (Mackie, 2000). Firstly, interview is a conversation that involves two people and d the questions are asked by the interviewer and the interviewee responds to them. This form of data will be vital since it will inform my research on a wide range of information about people such as the place of work and also elicit information about persons’ experience, opinions, attitudes and other major areas of interests.
Another form of data is through observations. In this case therefore, this mode of data will make my research very informative since it will give various discussions and introductions of both qualitative and quantitative approaches that are required in diverse settings both in organizational as well as educational perspective among the people in the community. It will be therefore invaluable reading for both the students, practitioners, employees and trainees in various organizations.
Questionnaires are another type of data formation. It will be vital since this category of data has a very interesting objective since it will try by all means to collect information from the public so as it can enumerate the remedies to the practical problems in the community as a whole. In my case therefore it will be one of the recommended research methods since my action research involves so many things about sociological perspectives and hence these questions will be vital towards making sure that the opinions from all the respondents are oriented to day to day grievances that affect the overall life of humans.
The multiple forms of data have several contributions and value that each of them will add up to my action research on the basis of the research questions as formulated above. Observation is not an expensive method. It will be therefore vital in identifying the type of talk that children engage in as they are working together and hence it will be simpler to determine their habits and operations that make them to acquire some sensitive skills. This type form of data will also help in knowing the things that employees and project teams discuss as they work in various organizations. It will also help in establishing and explaining various management practices and styles used at organizational level so as to improve the relationships that exist between the employees and the owner of the organization. It is also crucial since it will help in deciding what data to collect and how to use on the basis of increasing the critical insights into educational, organizational as well as in the social significance of welfare and business institutions (Mills, 2009).
On the organizational perspective also, interviews will be vital since it will give brief and clear information concerning how the organization works generally. It will give an opportunity towards knowing what can be improved and the good thing about the company with regards to management of employees and staff within the organization (Hansen, 2014). This will be achieved by asking and responding of questions. On educational matters, interviews are crucial during selection of students on entry to schools and colleges. They are also recognized by various interviews more so when a person wants to get a job from a certain company or even during promotions. They are useful since they make the person realize other people’s experience and understandings.
Questionnaires can also be effective in educational perspective since these questions can be presented so as to analyze the newly qualified teachers to know whether they are capable of offering a quality mode of education. Questions will also be of value in determining the information about the sex and age of employees in various organizations as well as those of children at schools and in the community as a whole.
In conclusion, the above forms of data can be utilized under all areas of concentration within an action research and they perform the same goal of giving the best information about the research requirements (Buczynski, 2014). They are all applicable in organizational, educational and community based issues and find means of resolving the related problems.
