This assessment task requires you to write an essay in which you analyse what you have learnt about teaching the whole child.

Using the statement below as a prompt, you are to write a persuasive essay that takes a particular stance on teaching the whole child and argues for that stance. Whether you agree or disagree with the statement you must put forward an argument that convinces the reader that your stance is defensible, rational, well-reasoned, evidence-based, logical, and educationally sound. In taking this stance, and arguing for it, you will demonstrate your understanding of the issues associated with teaching the whole child.

For all the concerns expressed about the need to focus on the whole child it is only traditional teaching methods which are really effective in ensuring that learning takes place.

To what extent do you agree?

Your essay must:

1. Consider what is meant by key terms such as ‘the whole child’, ‘teaching methods’ and ‘effective learning’.

2. Identify the relationship/s between these terms.

3. Develop an argument (point of view) in relation to the quotation above which is informed/supported by relevant literature.

4. The reference list is correct and extensive.

You must use APA style referencing in-text and include a reference list with your final submission. Minimum 20 references
