BUSN2030 Additional guidelines for Case Study – Assignment 2
Your company has been asked to conduct a training needs analysis of the 5 new
employees.
Paragraphs 2 & 3 provide some information about these 5 employees. I also suggest that you find a job description from the internet or an insurance broking company (via the internet). Then you will have an idea of what types of
skills these employees need.
You need to use the information you have gathered here to create a questionnaire or survey or other format so that you can go out and conduct the needs assessment on the new employees.
Note that the new employees have different levels of experience and in different
types of insurance.
Personal insurance products - house and contents insurance and car insurance. Business insurance is to cover businesses and is different to personal insurance. The tool you prepare for the needs assessment can be attached as an appendix. You
will need to use it to assess the new employees and then you can include the gaps in the induction program.
In the report you will be building your argument for using the needs assessment as
you decide and designing, implementing and evaluating the raining program. The design of the induction program may be over one day to two weeks (you decide) but justify why. The actual design of the program will likely be an attachment as well.
The next stage is the implementation which means the training methods that you
think are most appropriate to cover what the employees need to learn. (chapters 7 & 8 are a starting point.) In terms of implementation you will be discussing the
methods of training you are going to use and why - justify. Then you will need to provide details of how you will evaluate the program once it
has been delivered.
Throughout your report you must justify the choices you make regarding the TNA, design, implementation and evaluation with academic peer reviewed journal articles and use proper Harvard referencing.
To find peer reviewed journal articles use Google scholar and then findit@Flinders or go to findit@Flinders and search for topic eg training needs in books and journals
and you should be able to find articles to support your argument.
