Logistics Improvements Plan Proposal

Logistics is the control of the movement of goods from the point of origin to the consumer (Farris, Neil, Phillip and David 2013). Proper logistic will ensure that maximum goods are sold at the same time customer satisfaction is met.

After several misunderstanding within the family, the company was sold to the firstborn, Michael Kantara, who renamed it to Kantara Fashion Line in 2006 and has been in operation since then. The company has majored in winter and summer wear ranging from dresses, shorts, trousers, sweaters and coats depending on the season. The company’s mission statement is to make the customer comfortable under the weather. Its main headquarters is in Miami with two thousand outlets in different countries around the world.

From Fig 1 above, candidate 3 raises an important point considering the company produces its wears depending on the different seasons. The company should have a devised plan to increase production of a respective wear in outlets outside the tropics during the different seasons.

Question 3

To achieve maximum profits and customer satisfaction, various changes need to be made in the logistic process of Kantara Fashion Line (Mallik, 2010). The organization needs to be up to date with technology. Having only two thousand outlets globally is a shortcoming in itself, since not all customers can access these outlets in person. The organization needs to create an online supply center where customers can readily purchase goods with the use of their internet connected machines.

The website can also help in marketing the company as new products, and offers can readily be posted there. The website should meet customers' needs by having a customer care hotline in case of inquiries. It should also run full time since there is a different time zone around the world, and customers can make a purchase at different times within a day.

Kantara Fashion Line needs to increase its supplies since it's a global industry. A business operating globally tends to have many customers, and if production is an issue, the consumers will be unsatisfied with the services. More clothes need to be produced at all seasons. However, special consideration needs to be put in countries that do not experience winter and summer. During the winter season, for example, the company should not major in producing warm clothes and forget the potential clients in the tropical regions in need of loose fitting clothes.

Timing is another logistic process that needs to be revised. During the winter season, for example, outlets within countries that experience winter should be supplied with large quantities of warm outfits (Berry and Parasuraman, 2014). This is due to increased demand on the onset of the cold season. At this period, many warm clothes are purchased. Therefore, the company should take advantage of this factor to meet customers' needs.

Evaluation of customers’ feedback is important in meeting their needs and wants. The department in charge of customers’ welfare should regular check the feedbacks from customers and raise the uprising issues to the organization head. These issues need to be analyzed and dealt with to ensure the Kantara Fashion Line retains all its potential customers at the same time attract new ones.

Customer satisfaction is the backbone of the success of all business. It, however, comes with added expenses especially when issues not known to the organization arises and urgently needs to be dealt with. A company in its budget should include all this additional expense that may occur as they try to build a positive image while meeting their customers' needs and wants. Satisfied customers will always come back for more and introduce another customer to purchase the same product hence builds a business.
