Access the annual report on the Internet for your current or former employer organization. If your employer organization is not a publicly traded company, access the annual report for a publicly traded company.  It is acceptable to use the same company you selected in Week 3. Look for the table of contents in the annual report to find the statement of cash flows or type consolidated statement of cash flows into the search box.

The response must include the name of the company, a brief summary of the services and/or products this company provides, the date of the annual report you accessed and the website address for the statement of cash flows that appears in the annual report. If applicable, identify the parent company and subsidiary companies.

Answer the following questions based on the company's statement of cash flows.

What is the dollar amount for the net cash provided by operating activities?

Does the format of the operating activities section indicate that the indirect or direct method was used to prepare this section of the statement of cash flows? The statement of cash flows will not identify the method. Refer to Illustrations 12-14 (indirect method) and Illustration (Appendix A) 12A-16 (direct method). Include an explanation in your response as to why the format for the selected company's statement of cash flows was prepared using the indirect method or direct method.

What are at least 2 line items and dollar amounts that appear in the investing activities section?

What are at least 2 equity or debt financing activities (line items and dollar amounts) that appear in the financing activities section report?

To be eligible to earn full credit, your responses to the questions above need to be presented in your own words instead of a copied and pasted statement of cash flows. Make sure you reference the cited source(s) for the annual report and the statement of cash flows to be eligible to earn credit for your response.
