Operates radar and associated equipment, identifies and maintains a display (plot) of the movement of ships, aircraft, missiles and natural objects detected by observing radar; maintains a radar navigation plot of own ship's movement evaluates information collected by radar and appropriately disseminates it; performs routine preventive maintenance on radar equipment; operates radiotelephones. Operates a radar/ console screen, observing objects detected by the radar and displayed on the radar screen; identifies the objects detected determines their movement, and disseminates the information to users by internal communications systems. Monitored GCCS-M (Global Command and Control Systems- Maritime C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence). Broadcast and six voice data circuits providing safety of flight and flight following for 800 Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance (MPR) training/operational sorties. Operate surveillance and altitude radars' Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), and associated equipment. Serve as watch supervisors and section leaders; interpret and evaluate presentations and tactical situations and make recommendations to supervisors during watch conditions. Apply a thorough knowledge of doctrine and procedures applicable to CIC operations contained in U. S. Navy. Apply a thorough knowledge of doctrine and procedures applicable to CIC operations contained in U. S. Navy Instructions and Allied or U.S. Navy Publications and procedures necessary for radar navigation contained in Naval Oceanographic Office publications. Provide to the command technical information and assistance related to Anti-Surface Warfare, Anti-Air Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Naval Gunfire Support, and other matters pertaining to the Operations Specialist's area. Operate common marine electronic navigation instruments including radar systems, and provide target plotting data to the combat information center based on information received from target tracking devices.
