Decision-Making Style Assessment Reflection
I enjoyed taking the survey to assess my decision-making style. Results of this survey indicate that my decision-making process is satisfactory. In particular, it shows that I have a proper understanding of basics involved in the decision making processes. To improve on my decision-making skills, I need to become more proactive, focus on identifying many options and determining many risks and consequences as I possibly can. By improving on my analytical skills, I will be able to make more accurate decisions. First, when it comes to establishing an environment that facilitates positive decision-making my score was 18 out of 20, which is quite remarkable. This score shows that I am generally able to address the various significant interpersonal considerations before making a decision. When it comes to generating potential solutions, my score was 9 out of 15, which quite on the average. The score shows that I need to put a lot of effort to improve on my ability to generate potential solutions to problems. To improve on that ability, I need to find ways of coming up with many alternatives to problems so that I may select the best out of those alternatives. By developing many alternatives, I am able to refine my thinking to the problem, which also increases my chances of generating an effective solution to the problem. My score of 8 out of 15 on my ability to evaluate alternatives clearly demonstrates that I need to put a lot of effort on improving this aspect of decision-making. To become effective in my analysis, I need to consider three critical factors, including risk, feasibility, and consequences, when making decisions. Using this approach in my analysis, I would be able to correctly determine which alternative is appropriate for solving a particular problem. However, I had a much better score when it comes deciding as my score was 10 out of 15. Nevertheless, the score shows that I still need to work on my emotions when deciding by adopting a structured and objective approach to decision making. My score on checking the decision was quite notable as it was 8 out of 10. I have learnt that I can improve on this ability by being more logical and using more realistic assumptions. Lastly, my score on communicating and implementing was the best as I had 13 out of 15. This shows that my skills in communication and implementation are quite outstanding. However, I may still improve on this skill by developing clear implementation plans.
