Most of us have a sense that there is a better meaningful place, person or object in our lives, but we can seem to find it ourselves. People walk in and out of our lives each and every second. Some people move on through the heartache and pain, while others hold on to that somebody who has made a lasting impression on their life. Twenty years of my life, I was abundantly blessed to have a very special person in my life. This special person was there for everything from birth. Every person has certain people in their lives that mean a lot to them, but it really takes a great person to be special to you.

I made a list of special people in my life with a pencil, but when I reached his name, I had to use a pen because I decided to keep him forever as a special in my life. I was immensely blessed to have him around me for twenty good years. He was a very humble polite gentleman who everyone got along with. He was one who looked to God for strength courage and guidance. Therefore, I looked to him for my courage and strength too. My uncle was there for me in all directions. We fondly called him “Uncle Gee”.

“I love you” These are three little words that I could speak with fondness to uncle Gee all over the world. Just like the Eskimos who have many different words to describe the different kinds of snow they experience, I found out that there are many different words to describe the many assorted ways I can express his love. Uncle Gee was special in many different ways. The main thing I can remember about uncle Gee was the way he treated people. He never once treated a stranger. He treated people as if they are all equal, which they are all in God’s eyes. His religion came before everything; he always looked to God for strength and courage in everything he did. The thing that is so special and unique about his religious affiliation is that he did pass it on to time. He took us to church when we were small children and as we grew older, the choice was ours to go to church or not. Of course I chose to continue going to church with Uncle Gee. If it wer not for him, I would not have the relationship I have with God today. I believe it takes a very special person to introduce you to God, it takes a tremendous amount of love to show you the way to the lord God.

Each and every person has a special person that they can rely on. You know the person you can go to and tell them about what is going on in your life at the time. I strongly believe that it takes a special person to sit and take time to listen to whatever you want to talk about at the time. I always found it funny when I always went to tell uncle Gee something I did not want everyone else to know and then by the time afternoon rolled around everyone knew. It was humorous, he never told the things I never I didn’t want people knowing, but he always told the things I was scared to talk about loud. So, it did take a little pressure off of me, because I knew if I went and told him something, it would be around to the parson I needed it to get to in no time.

Special people are hard to come by so when you have a very special person in your life ensure you hold on tight. I was very blessed to know the special person in my twenty years of my life. I will carry the memories, the things he taught me, and keep the special place in my heart that he occupied forever.

The quote is vivid, “Some people come into our lives, leave footprints I our hearts, and we are never the same” I will never be the same, I have been molded into the person I am today because of the special person that once used to be part of my everyday life, Uncle Gee!
