Tomboy

Society define Tomboy is a girl has boyish behavior. The society gives too much definition and attention on boys and girls without Tomboy. Prince is a tomboy in book “Tomboy” by Liz Prince, and she wrote people were paying too much time to questions Prince’s sexuality and gender, in which would made bad affection in Prince, but fortunately, prince’s parent and her best friends gave her much love and encourage her to follow her dream.

Liz prince’s parent encourage her to do what her want to do in anytime. According to book “Tomboy” Prince wrote, “It doesn’t really matter to me, wear whatever you want.” (11) Prince’s grandma bought a dress for her, but she really didn’t want to wear the dress anymore. Her parent didn’t order Prince had to wear the dress that her grandma bought or something that girl had to do. Her parent gave her much respect and encourage because they want Prince had freedom and choice in her life. Prince could not decide her gender when she was born, but she could choice who she want to be, such want to be a girl or tomboy. Whether Prince got much laughed in school, eventually she could got much love than laugh form her parent. Because had her parent’s love, then Prince would not worried about others how to looks her, and that gave her a lot encourage to found true self, to enjoying her life. In school, boys and girls didn’t like to play with her or anyone who were tomboy. Sometime she felt sad, and she didn’t understand why people could not accept tomboy. But for Prince’s parent, she wasn’t a boy, a girl or a tomboy, because she was their daughter. The only things her parent could always have her is love, in which help Prince overcome many problems and finally help her to embraced her identity as a tomboy. Prince not only having encourage from her parent, but also her best friend Harley who also gave her encourage to found herself.

Prince had a friend name Harley who working on her mom and she was also encourage Prince to found herself. According to book “Tomboy” she wrote, “Wow, this is really good. I make a zine. Would you like to draw comics for it.”(192) Prince was very interest in drawing at this time, and she was very happy when she met Harley because she was the first person encourage her to followed her dream in drawing comic books. Encouraging from her friends without her parent were very important for Prince to found herself. Because that could made Prince to have more confident to do what her want to do, also it made Prince believe there still had some people care her and believe her. Even if Prince looks like strong, but in any case, she just a girl, or I can even say she just a child. Prince need love, not laughing. Harley gave her love and encourage her do what she want to do and to found her true self.

When she were grow up. Many things happened to her, her body had changed. She looked like a girl, she didn’t even know what is love, she could kissed anyone and she felt nothing. When she went to high-school, she knew what is love, she only kissed someone who she love. she didn’t care that she is a girl or tomboy, and she only care who she is. I think that is a big change for Liz Prince. As the time passes, her ideas has been change. She doesn’t care others laugh at her. In fact, people in the society are paying too much time on identity others, but if we have time to define others, why we can’t use this time to do ourself, to be realself, to do something we like. That’s our life, that’s something we need.

In conclusion, People in the society are paying too much time to identity others, also people are caring how others look them. The only thing we need to care in our life is that doing what we want to do and find our true self. Prince did it, her parent and her best friends give her love and encourage her to find her true self even if there have many people laugh at her. But she never care about them, and she only care someone people who love her. So, when we are growing up, we will also have many problems, but we just only follow our heart and trust our parent and best friend who we care, then we can find our true self.
