We discover something new about ourselves everyday or perhaps it something we've always known where just waiting for others to find out. We're waiting for the acceptance whether we're black, gay, or transgender, we're looking for approval to be who we are, indifferent. Society isn't equipped for indifferent, we struggle to accept people that are dissimilar from us. People who are indifferent already acquire distaste from society, but when it's bestowed upon you by family it's unbearable. "I feel like a girl trapped in a boy's body, and I've felt that way ever since I was 4," Ms. Alcorn's note read. "When I was 14, I learned what transgender meant and cried of happiness ... I immediately told my mom, and she reacted extremely negatively, telling me that it was a phase, that I would never truly be a girl, that God doesn't make mistakes, that I am wrong” (Bielski). Familial rejection is the most common rejection when it comes to gay, lesbian and transgender, which often causes one to consider expiring their life. If one can't seek support and acceptance from family, then why should society coincide with one's indifferent lifestyle. This article speak of the challenges transgender face of wanting to commit suicide because negative judgment of family, which allows me to consider the attitudes and negative feedback transgenders consume,is in-taking by the gay and lesbian community also. It explores a community indifferent then my own, it also will accredit my paper to being similar to the gay community. Facing the same challenges but yet different lifestyles.

Contenders have become worrisome that allowing two men and women to wed will transpose a union describe only for man and woman. Although they should be, because gay marriages have already evolved, it has become legal in nine states. “This revolution has overturned the most traditional functions of the institution: to reinforce differences in wealth and power and to establish distinct and unequal roles for men and women under the law”(Coontz). For along time marriages have been based on differing roles for husbands and wives. Allocating the men to have sole control over wealth, power, and land and women being distinguish as the help. Therefore, marriages are being recognized as a privilege, not a right. Forgetting to adopt love, unfavorable to change. This article obtains the repercussions of same-sex marriage, yet in a good way.

For many years marriage has always been a union recognized between man and woman, it would be unbiblical to see it any other way, at least that's what most anticipates. Some say homosexual unions shouldn't exist because it lack elements of marriage and family, blinded by the fact, that the primary source of any union is love. Although marriage is said to be the cornerstone of civilization, created to sustain child-rearing, subjecting that a mother and father in the home is better equipped to raise a child is discerning and bias. Allowing same-sex marriage to share commitment and responsibilities as of civil marriage is the right thing to do( Maltese, Wolfson). Society may differ because such unions are not able to contribute in a consequential way to procreate and survive the human race. However, homosexuals should be appointed the ideal marriage considering love,intimacy, and family as anyone else. They are entitled to equal life- defining choices without appealing to judgment. This article is very interesting because although it makes logic statements it allows me to morally object to its opinion.

Christians ply substantial influence on our nation's cultural and ethical norms. Therefore, they look to the bible to justify their judgment. They believe that the covenant of marriage was meant for man and woman not man and man. Some Christians cite Leviticus 20:13, which commands death for men who lie with men(Pearce). However, in this passage it's hard to assume that Jesus was talking about homosexuality when it didn't exist then. Yet majority of churches view gay marriages as a sin, but accommodates divorce men and women, knowing Jesus spoke against it. This article gives insight on how hypocritical society really is. It will help me to understand one's religious belief of opposing same-sex marriages in hopes for them to acknowledge their bigotry.

Again it explains the motives of those who oppose same-sex marriages. The opposition of gay marriages is implicit by biblical literalism. However this article disagrees that banning same-sex marriages has little to do with one's feelings or religious belief, but marriage itself and what we perceive it to be. “Gay marriage is not so much wrong as unnecessary”(Schulman). This article relates past modern marriages to present marriages of today, allowing me to be enthuse about how much marriages have evolve from then to now.
