Topic: The Umbrella (revolution) tension between countries
Background:
Hong Kong, a city with past being a British colony, being occupied by Japan and now is a Special Administrative Region under China’s jurisdiction. With such a long history to this country, problems were hardly ever solved. As a part of China, people never believed that Hong Kong would have true democracy as citizens can have their own power to vote their governor. In the mean time, many issues came to the people of Hong Kong and they decided act, to occupy district Central to force Hong Kong government to respond. However, due to government’s non-respond and police department’s action, anger becomes rage. Occupying central becomes more and more district being occupied. In the end, court ordered clearance to zones being occupied. We called it Umbrella Revolution.
From my view, it is just peoples come together protest without objective and I’m going to talk about why Umbrella Revolution starts and what actually behind this revolution.
I chose this topic because I want people to know what’s behind the revolution. I believe in this political issue. China, US and UK all are trying to gain something as I would like to talk about in the paper.
