Summary
The following research aims to answer the following questions in relation to politics and the religion groups. The research involves the following questions. Should organized religious groups be allowed to act as political advocates? Does it affect the separation of Church and State? On the other hand, should religious groups just focus on the spiritual needs of people? Is it possible to strike a balance? In relation to this case, the paper will establish the effects of the involvement of the religious groups as political advocates.
Introduction
The research paper is to address the effects of the engagement of the religious groups as political advocates. Politics and religion are two different things and whose only relation is that they form part of human beings day to day life. The two issues are important to human life. However, their scope varies in many ways. The religion involves the faith of an individual while politics involves such aspects as prudent, crafty, cunning or diplomacy. Religion relates to a person soul while politics is based on the perspective. Furthermore, religion is the devotion, worship and the commitment to the belief in the supernatural. Thus, the involvement of the religious groups as political advocates will result in various outcomes. The research paper will focus on those outcomes and justify whether the religious leaders should be involved as political advocates or not.
Review of the literature
As identified, it is important to study this field because it forms part of the life of human beings. In each country, there is a political system and a religious system. Various studies conducted mostly concentrate on the religious conflicts. These conflicts are based on the religious differences, for example, the religious conflicts in Nigeria. The conflicts in Nigeria were based on the differences between the Christians and the Muslims (Wuthnow, 2008). This research involves the merging of religious responsibilities of the religious responsibilities with the political responsibilities. Therefore, the research aims to take a different focus from what other researchers have done.
Methodology
To undertake the research, it will involve the following activities or methods. The first method will be the collection of data from secondary materials. The materials include the books, journals, articles, newspapers and any other recorded materials that will be relevant to the study. The research will also entail the use of internet to analysis the various data that is recorded in various links and sites. These sources of information will supply a wide range of information that has been captured in the various parts of the world. It is because it would be very hard to engage in practical actions in every country thus using the recorded materials would establish a reliable and viable source of information. The other methods that will be Important, in this case, will be the direct gathering of data involving the human beings. In this case, it will entail the use of the questionnaires and the interviews. The two methods will supply direct information. The questionnaires are a cheap source of information and can capture a wide range of the respondents. The interview will lead to the resultant of the first-hand information.
Outcomes
The research will more likely result in the following findings. The involvement of the religious groups as political advocates will result in the separation of church and the state. In addition, the research will indicate that the religious groups should only focus on the spiritual needs of the people (Fowler, 2010). The research will also provide information that will lead to the establishment of the decision that I would be impossible to strike a balance between the politics and the religious responsibilities among the religious groups.
Discussion
The defense to the above findings will be based on the information gathered from the sources that were used in the research. In this case, the religious and the political responsibilities are different. The engagement of the religious groups as the advocates of politics will lead to compromising of the religious responsibilities. It is because the scope of the two things defines them as different issue, and that cannot be in harmony with each other.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the paper has discussed various issues in relation to the research. It has led to the decision that the religious groups should not be allowed to act as political advocates. The reasons are both for the religious implications and for the people's relations. Involvement in politics will deter the meaning of religion and at the same time result in more differences among the religious groups. It is because it will lead to differences among the religious groups and hence merge the political conflicts and the religious conflicts. Within one country, there are always various religious groups and their involvement will at times be resulting to differences and the differences can result in major conflicts and instabilities in the countries.
