Paper – Audit Tools Guidance
Each student will need to submit a paper on audit tools. The paper is due by the end of Week 4. The audit tools paper is worth 100 points (with a weight of 10% towards the final grade). I have attempted to provide guidance below, but if you are uncertain of the requirements, you must contact the professor for clarification.
You will conduct research on the tools (automated and non-automated) that are available to auditors and recommend a selection of tools (a minimum of two automated and three non- automated tools) that can be used for an audit of the University of Maryland MyUMUC system.
This paper will require you to be creative and think outside the box. You will need to figure out what types of audit tools exist and also the potential scope for an audit of MyUMUC.
Please note that every paper will probably be different as there is no single right answer for this paper. I want to see how effective you are at researching and writing.
Please ensure that your paper is between 5 to 10 pages double spaced of CONTENT MINIMUM - this excludes the title page, table of contents, references, and any appendix item. THERE IS NO MAXIMUM PAGE LENGTH! Please note that I will give lower grades to people that submit shorter papers. For example, a 5 page paper will likely get a 70; a 7 page paper might get an 80; a 10 page paper might get a 90; an 11+ page paper will earn the A spot - of course, I am looking for quality and not just quantity. You MUST ENSURE you give me great content of the highest caliber in order to receive a good grade. Please follow appropriate APA formatting. If you have any doubts, talk with me.
Points WILL be deducted for problems with spelling, punctuation and grammar. NOTE ON OUTSIDE REFERENCES: It is imperative that you use outside references in your paper. Be sure that you cite your sources properly and fully. If you do not have at least 5 references for your paper, you did not fully research the topic or you incorrectly cited information and may be plagiarizing. The purpose of the assignment is for you to develop your understanding and opinions on the research, not to regurgitate someone else’s.
