Time Management In The Leadership

Time is irreversible, once wasted no one can regain it again; therefore time management is a vital factor in every leadership. Good leaders are the ones who have effective time management and organizational skills. With effective time management leaders are able to meet their goals and objectives they have set. Every leader will be able to manage time when they prioritise their work and work towards realization of every bit of task ahead.

Poor time management will make one fill some internal conflict because time is not in his or her side. People should analyze on how to maximise their little time they have. Setting up of goals will help strong leaders accomplish them without much struggle. Goals will be achieved based on the timeframe if at all time is effectively managed. Nelson Mandela who was the first president of South Africa and ant-apartheid revolutionist argued that “we must use our time wisely and forever realize that time is always ripe to do right”. This African iconic hero believes time management will always find us doing the right time and achieve our dreams we always yearn for. Those who waste time fall in these categories; they have tend to have poor organized work, they make unnecessary mistakes, they lack plans to execute their duties. People who are good in time management they do their work one at a time, they do mess up with peoples time, they also have time to evaluate themselves on what they accomplished over certain period. They also assume things to be simple. They also adjust time to deal with emerging issues. They make some deadlines for their own goal settings. When there is effective time management leaders are able to finish tasks ahead hence saving organizations resources. Time management will help one make informative decision. To avoid failure in any organization, leaders should avoid overloading themselves with a lot work (Rigolosi, 2013).

Another great writer Luther king argue that “time is always right to do what is right. Therefore whatever we do in life should have it own time at the right time. Strong leaders have good time management, they communicate with the people who word under them to make sure the organization runs smoothly. Through communication and effective time management ensures every deadlines and goals set are achieved at the intended period. Timeframes without discipline among leaders and subordinate, organization always fail. Goal set in every organization is subject to company’s calendar, it shows the work plan and timeframe. To achieve this discipline should uphold. Prioritizing workload will help keep time by working on urgent jobs and those are less in early are done afterwards. Another way good leaders can be able to manage their time is by ensuring that they manage other peoples time as they do theirs. For one to think of managing time, he or she should be able to understand what the meaning of time. Some few techniques can be employed in managing time. Every important activity should be given a special time for attention, one should give himself a special time to relax no to overburden with a lot of work. It is good to avoid activities that might hinder one from finishing their assignment at the right time. It is good to remember that not every work needs to meet it deadline because some factors cannot be avoided, like sickness and other family matters.

Managing time it’s at personal level, there time for eating, sleeping and time for working .so its upon everyone to make proper management in order to stay at the time bound, therefore it is advised that everybody should be honest with himself. Every leader should prioritize their workload, after that they should be able to monitor and reflect on those things planned. Patience, flexibility and awareness should be used as tools to guide people in managing their precious time. It is advised to evaluate oneself performance to know whether the plans are being met to their best.

There are few steps one should follow to manage their time-;
