The ever changing state of mind. New

To answer the first question posed, for me one answer comes to mind almost immediately. It is the fact that no matter what circumstances psychiatric, spiritual, and recreational, drugs are used to alter the current state of mind. Although, the alteration of the mind may be very different and the chemical changes that occur are unique from each other all produce some sort of alteration, such as being high, drunk, numb, happy, and even indescribable effects. I see drugs as a tool used by many people to create some affect on their lives. I have never understood "how" music does what it does, which is partly why I took this class, but from my understanding something about the way the sounds and effects are combined alters perception and can create a feeling of euphoria. I find it funny how music can create a euphoric affect on one generation of people yet the identical sound can create the opposite affect on say a younger generation. All it took was a preconceived notion that the music is "uncool" and it can completely change the experience one person has with the music. This leads me to believe music can have effects similar to drugs, but people can become less susceptible to its effect solely based on a state of mind. Contrary to that of many drugs where a chemical change is forced upon the brain. Time is an amazing concept, I have no idea how to explain it and I'm alright with that. I feel like many people become scared of things unknown to them. I believe there are two ways to deal with the unknown, to confront the fear, or to let it go, time being one of those things where any perception I have with it can be altered or skewed by reality and I don't believe trying to categorize and understand its perception will cause any benefit. That being said time is amazing and one of the many wonders of our lives.
