Barton Incorporated is a family- owned business that is launching an adult card game for the social butterflies and “out of the box” party-goer”. The vision of “LYAO” (laugh your ass off) is to incorporate the old version of charades that everyone knows and loves, and enhancing it to meet the era and trends of 2014 and beyond. The mission of LYAO is to change the way of board games and update the classics to the real life lingo, life experiences, and weird things we face each day. An un-classy version of charades escalates the party and brings family and friends together. The focus of your project is the business rather than their product. Please adjust the focus for all future assignments. Comment by Ken: Missing intro paragraph explaining the importance of an overview and thesis which outlines the topics in this paper. Comment by Ken: The discussion of Mission, vision and strategy should be a separate section of your paper.
LYAO will use low cost or high volume production. The more units purchased will reduce its profit margin and recoup it through high volume sales and turnover. Marketing research and advertising will be a priority to gain exposure and assess the competition. Although LYAO is not the first charade game created, it will reimagine the game while maintaining strong research and development capabilities. Streamlining to gain control of the board game industry is the prerogative of Barton Incoporated.
The opportunity for card game production and sales is increasing from previous years. “Non-digital games and puzzles racked up $1.9 billion in sales in the United States in 2013, according to the Toy Industry Association Inc., up 3 percent over 2012” (Gilsdorf, Year2014, para. 5).
Good start, however this paper is quite brief.
