Module Overview
Presentations. PowerPoint. These topics raise strong emotions in many people. One of whom, Edward Tufte, is arguably the world's leading expert on the visual display of information. He argues that PowerPoint is evil. No, really. A selection from his controversial monograph makes up part of your readings for this module. So do several replies from other experts. Immersing yourself in this controversy is the first step in learning how to make good PowerPoint presentations. But if you really want to make powerful PowerPoint presentations that are radically different from any others you've seen and much better, then read the Atkinson and Mayer reading in the background readings. Just don't blame TUI if it sours you on most existing PowerPoint presentations and starts you on a quixotic quest to make the kind of presentation they call for. Consider yourself forewarned.
