Class Participation Assignment Guidelines
You may earn up to 45 participation points by submitting a brief analysis of relevant news articles that address issues or topics that we have covered in class.
You may submit articles from:
· Regularly published daily newspapers (NY Times, Wall Street Journal, etc.)
· Magazines (Forbes, The Economist, etc.), or
· Academic journals (Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Advertising, etc.).
You may NOT submit articles from:
· Blogs
· Press releases or other company-sourced documents
· Any source that does not clearly identify the author and publication date
The article must be current (published within the previous 30 days from the submission date for newspapers, 2 months for magazines, and 6 months for academic journals).
Complete submissions will earn up to 15 points each, based upon the submission date per the table below. When submitting an article you must print or clip the entire article, and include with the article an information sheet containing the following information:
1. Your name
2. Your CWID
3. The date submitted
4. The date of the article
5. The publication
6. Word count
7. The topic/issue from class to which the article relates
8. 100-200 words explaining why you felt the article was relevant to the topic above
10. Article analyses must be submitted in class on either class day during a given week, but no more than one article may be submitted per week. (NB: if class does not meet on a given day, then no submissions are permitted on that day, so plan accordingly).
11. Points received depend upon the date submitted. Please refer to the table below:
