Homeostatic Imbalance

Recall from your readings that the body uses two different feedback systems to help

maintain homeostasis. One is used to strengthen a system while the other reduces the

output of the system. Briefly describe the two feedback systems you learned about and then

using the knowledge you have gained in your readings, choose two of your favorite body

systems and discuss how these body systems are able to maintain homeostasis. Make sure

to address the following questions as well:

 How do these systems maintain homeostasis?

 What happens when the balance is ‘off’?

 What do these body systems do to re-equilibrate?

 Do these two systems complement each other by working together?

o If they do complement each other, how do they work together?

o If they are not complementary, how do they work independently?

Basic Writing Expectations:

 3-4 page paper answering the questions above.

 Font size 12 in Times New Roman.

 Use scientifically credible references

 Cite in APA style.

 Submit your completed Assignment to the Unit 8 Dropbox

Submitting Your Work

first name-SC121-section-Unit X Assignment (section is your course section; X is your unit

number). Make certain to save your Assignment in a location where you can find it. When

you are ready to submit it, go to the Dropbox and complete the steps below:

 In the "Submit to Basket" menu, select Unit X: Assignment.

 In the "Comments" field, make sure to add at least the title of your assignment.

 Click the "Add Attachments" button.
