Memorandum
February 1, 2015
From: Shan Liu, Operations Manager
To: Ms. Sarah Robinson, President
Dear MS. Robinson,
On August 10, 2014, Tom Harrelson, field manager, sent two new workers to the Stewart residence. The new workers failed to cover up the fish pond before spraying the trees and shrubs. As a result, the fish inside the pond were all killed.
It is the company policy to pair up a new worker with an experienced worker. That way, the experience worker can teach the new worker, and avoid disasters.
My recommendation is provide an orientation for new employees. The orientation will let them know that they are supposed to be pair with experienced workers at job sites. They are never supposed to be working alone or without supervision. The new employees also needs to know that they need to speak up to notify their supervisor if they are paired with another new employee.
Sincerely,
Shan Liu Operations Manager
