Business Opportunity - Trend Identification Report

The success of entrepreneurial ventures is often dependent on a “window of opportunity.” Timing is critical and entering a market too soon or too late can create undue struggles for a startup.

You are responsible for identifying three major trends and submitting a NEW business idea around each trend you identify. Your report must provide research support for the trend (including references) and the rationale behind the newly created business ideas.

Create a 1-2 page report that identifies three major trends – be sure to include support for the size / significance of the trends. Examples would include the healthy eating trend, the wearable technology trend, and the on-line learning trend. These are examples – please come up with your own trends. In your trend description, you should include the number of people following the trend, their demographics, and the types of products and services that are leveraging these trends. At the end of your trend description, describe at least one NEW business idea that takes advantage of the trend you have identified. Your business idea should be fairly novel – it can be incrementally new (new type of smart watch) or radically new (flying car). You should be able to convince me that the idea is feasible and that the technology / talent is available.
