Activity Description
You and your partners have been successful with your restaurant and now own and manage a local chain of restaurants, with moderate to expensive prices that are open for lunch and dinner during the week and for dinner on weekends. Your staff is diverse, and you believe that you and your partners are effectively managing diversity. Yet on visits to the different restaurants, you have noticed that your African-American employees tend to congregate together and communicate mainly with each other. The same is true for your Hispanic employees and your white employees. You are meeting with your partners today to discuss this observation. Write a paper in which you discuss the following:
1. Why the patterns of communication that you observed might be occurring in your restaurants. 2. Whether your observation reflects an underlying problem. If so, why? If not, why not? 3. Whether you should address this issue with your staff and in your restaurants. If so, how and why? If not, why not?
Include a minimum of one (1) scholarly source in addition to your text and required readings.
Length: 3-5 pages not including title and reference pages
Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
