Thesis Statement:

Government funding must be utilized to protect human lives and the environment from the negative effects of global warming.

Bulleted Topic Sentences Supporting Thesis Statement:

· Science overwhelmingly state that global warming is occurring and that people are causing it.

· Global warming will cause more storms and other weather extremes.

· Many communities will not be able to adapt to rapid climate change, caused by global warming.

· Global warming is a global issue.

Conclusion Statement:

Government’s around the world must unite and coordinate actions in order to stem the impacts of global warming and protect their populations from impending natural disasters.

Topic sentences are the main thought in a paragraph. Each paragraph should have a topic sentence and every thought in that paragraph relates to that topic sentence.

Example of a Topic Sentence: Fixing a flat tire on a bicycle is easy if you follow these steps. Everything after this relates to the steps required to fix a flat tire.
