Communication Research Skills
You do not need to write an essay, just provide your answers and details for each of the areas. Be sure to include all of the following elements for each of the two topics chosen:
A. To test the extent to which people may try to save face by expressing attitudes on matters they are wholly uninformed about, the researcher asks for their attitudes regarding a fictitious issue.
B. A communication instructor asks students in an introductory communication class to complete questionnaires needed in order for the instructor to complete her dissertation and graduate on time.
Assignment Instructions:
1. Briefly describe the topic.
2. Explain the research parameters.
3. Using the information in the Chapter 5 text reading, describe the possible ethical considerations to this topic. (Book-The Basics of Communication Research (with InfoTrac®), 1st Edition-Leslie A. Baxter/Earl Babbie )
4. Keeping in mind the ethical considerations, describe how you would conduct the research study ethically.
5. Explain how you would debrief the research subjects without being deceptive
The body of the paper should be between 500 and 600 words, or about two pages.
· Use one-inch margins on all sides of the paper.
· Use a 12-point font such as Times New Roman or Arial.
· The paper will be based on your thoughts and, therefore, will not require outside citations. However, if you do cite outside references (including the text), you will have to provide the source information. In addition, projects should demonstrate careful proofreading.
· For this assignment you will need to answer all 5 questions about the two research topics above. The assignment can be written in a question and answer format.
