Being Black in America

Poverty is conversational issue that is threatening the African American society. Therefore, I become more interested to looking deep into this issue. Since Tennessee State University is a black school, I like to do my research about African American poverty which is the same community I am in now. Otherwise, my research maybe is useful for other researchers, who are interested in the same topic since poverty is a global problem, being everywhere. In African American society poverty has constituted extremely damage specifically in male’s life. Regardless to my reading through books and articles, here is listing of questions that is my research about. What is the poverty? Why poverty is paramount issue? What does it mean to be poor? What are the influences in African male poverty? How has poverty changed over time? Are the homelessness is a poverty issue and what is the relationship between the homelessness and racism? Poverty is an important problem in African American society because poverty can force a young black male to do a bad behavior. Also, poverty can effect in the black male’s life such as educationally, socially, and occupationally. As result, lack of opportunities, level of education, unsocial life, or get job, are may simulate the black male to make a bad decision. Consequently, in 2010 the rate of poverty of black male has increased due to deterioration in the economic situation. Moreover, racism is often effect in any issue, so the homelessness is a racial issue due to increase the rate of black male in the shelter than the white regardless to the statistic. Regardless to the questions I write for my researcher, I need to find more specific information about my topic by look into other books. Reading other researcher about the poverty may provide great ideas. Also, in articles and journey I can find good information supporting my topic. Doing interview with African American is one of the significant resources that I am going to use. Furthermore, watching documenter’s movies is going to be way to get some data about poverty.
